We stayed 1st to 3rd march room clean and tidy I must say their new chef who tells me has only been there a month his food was cooked and presentation and taste was done to perfection his standard is really good we could not fault it well done he is a asset to place. If I had to pick fault we found the restaurant staff seemed to have little interest in their customers if you wanted anything you had to go and find someone only to find them peering in to their phone in the bar don’t let your chef down on the whole a good stayDavid and Ruth

Slept there for one night to start the Hadrian's wall walk. Very nice room and very kind staff. I also ate there and had the burger and that gets a really big extra ? one of the best I had in my life! Big recommendation!!

Under new ownership. Mmmm. Inconsistent. Stocks low.not publising openings/offers/ entertainment.Bartender Simone is doing a great job under difficult circumstances. No one seems to be in charge. No customer interaction with management.Could be a fabulous venue with the right management. Pub itself is actually quite nice.

Below average Sunday dinner. Staff were nice, friendly. Dinner was not great... v. undercooked veg, watery gravy, skinless chicken, but the roast pots and mash were good! The place was dead and had zero atmosphere which is a shame because, given its central location, plus carparking, it should be bustling.

Vegetables were not cooked enough ie broccoli and cauliflower really tuff but the chicken and both roasties were

Do not book to stay here. 6 people were booked to stay here for my wedding nearby. All got last minute cancellations with no explanation and when there wasn’t anything else available to re-book anywhere.Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere!

Called in for tea as I'd forgot to put my slow cooker on this morning. Ordered Scampi with mushy peas and chips. My other half had the burger. I must say we enjoyed our meal very much and that's the best scampi & chips I've ever had, mushy peas were amazing. They have Beaver Town Neck Oil on tap with fancy glasses to serve. You won't be disappointed as with previous management. Will definitely be back! The staff are lovely..Thankyou
