“Fab little cafe. We had club sandwiches and they were absolutely amazing! We turned up just before 12 on a Saturday - which seemed a good thing as they got pretty busy very quickly!
They had a little sign up inside saying they prefer if you can pay in cash, worth being aware of as we were unprepared. And while they happily took a card payment in the future I would bring cash.”

“Oh this beautiful café is a real find, tucked away of the main drag, in a cute side street that goes on towards the Stepping Stones across the Wansbeck.
We were given a really warm welcome and had our suitcases as we'd just arrived from Birmingham and our apartment wasn't ready. They were really lovely and accommodating.
OMLETTES are on the menu !!!!????????????? ? ? And they serve them all day !!! Mine was a double cheese and mushroom omlette and it was delicious.
The Man had the Steak Pie and omg that isn't a pie, it's sensational - the meat is plentiful, melt in the mouth and the gravy is delicious, this is home cooked food like your grandma used to make, it's REAL, traditional food and tastes really good because it's high quality food!
We had a trifle and a cheesecake for dessert, both were gorgeous and what we really loved, they were not full of sugar, like modern desserts are, these were just right.
If you're sick of slick modern try-to-hard cafes, come here for some real soul, warm hearted banter and decent food ?????”

“Went here today for breakfast. Great cosy atmosphere, the young lady who was serving was very attentive more so because the cafe was very busy this morning, and she was on her own but kept everything flowing. Well done to her. The food was very nice and although very busy we didn't have to wait long.”

“The food here was delicious. And for a small-ish cafe, there was a great selection of dishes to choose from…
We went for the cheese and onion toastie, the ham and cheese quiche and the CROISSANTWICH (at least I think that’s how you spell it!) from the special board. It came filled with scrambled eggs, bacon and tomato but there were also other filling options.
The atmosphere was calming and welcoming, with a snug in the window to enjoy a coffee on. The service was excellent and the food came quickly (but not too quickly!). All in all a very comfortable experience.
Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food in a cozy environment!”

“The food is so good and the staff are really lovely!
Dietary restrictions: I let them know I had an allergy and they made sure to check all their ingredients for me to accommodate it.”

“excellent menu. In it favour it's dog friendly and child friendly but sadly it's difficult for a disabled person to access doors and there is limited space to move about. Staff not particularly helpful!”
