7 years ago I used to live in Ovingham and was a regular at the pub. I went tonight with my wife as we'd been on grandparent duty in Wylam. I had the peppercorn chicken burger and the boss had loaded fries. I don't drink alcohol now and was happy to see a good range of non alcoholic drinks. I'd forgotten how large the portions were and felt I'd dodged a bullet when I turned down the starter option. My food was fantastic and and my wife's food was too but enough for at least two. The staff are very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I'll not be waiting 7 years to return.

Lovely Sunday lunch at the Swan. Had the roast beef for a main and a vegetable soup starter. Staff very busy but so very attentive. However, our small table was a bit exposed on the edge of a walk through to the swings and vaping area. This combined with the very dim lighting means for us the atmosphere was spoilt. Won’t stop us coming back.

Really nice pub meal for a family of 4. Menu was great & varied, very tasty dishes, loaded fries to die for as a 'shared' starter. A brilliant traditional pub, with good atmosphere, wide selection of drinks & local real ales. All staff very friendly, helpful & attentive, even though it was pretty busy. The White Swan deserves its positive reputation.

OMG I would encourage anyone visiting this area to visit the White Swan for their cosy and warm (open fire) atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious menu. We have tried a number of things on the menu but have to say the Pulled Pork Loaded Fries were a delight. Gluten free ideal for hubby and it honestly fed three of us. Even when it started to go cold the flavour was still there and the cheese did not go hard like some places A blooming lush time had by all Oh and the band last week were cracking

Recommended by staff at the local caravan park, the White Swan did not disappoint.Portions were huge and the food was well prepared and delicious. I walked away like an overfed Labrador.Staff were quick to serve and very efficient. Will be heading there again ASAP.
