Fantastic Indian food, served by friendly, attentive staff in a lovely village pub setting.

We were away on holiday and didn’t feel like cooking and so we decided to order a takeaway. We encountered 2 issues. 1) When we went to collect our order the price was more expensive than the website. We we told that the website was out of date! No offer of honouring the price was made as a gesture of goodwill. 2) When we opened our order back at our accommodation we found that both main meals were identical despite the fact that 2 different dishes had been ordered and the fact that the lids clearly stated the names of the 2 dishes. The meal itself tasted fine even if it was in the reddest sauce imaginable!

We ordered 2 dishes, a Makani and a Tikka Masala. During the ordering and collection process our order was confirmed three times. However, when I got home I found they had just given 2 Makani. They were not busy, and it wasn’t a complicated order, no excuse for this poor mistake. We won’t be going back.

We used to occasionally visit when in Rothbury, when it was based above a different pub, however we have been to the new venue a few times now and it seems to get worse and worse each time, with orders always wrong and the food based on the same fluorescent red gravy regardless of what you order. Garlic rice with burnt garlic, burnt naan, no keema in the keema naan, questionable lamb, and staff who are argumentative if you complain. Won’t be going back again. There’s a better one in Shilbottle.

Ordered a takeaway from Anisha’s for the first time. Polite and helpful staff member took the order and was able to assure me re. Allergies. Meal ready at the time they said it would be. Really enjoyed the curry as did my partner. Nice flavours and not greasy. Will certainly be back again soon. Thank you

Our first experience of Anisha’s at The Newcastle House and we will be back. Ordered easily for takeaway, friendly and helpful and welcoming. Flavours very nice indeed, and good portion size. Relieved that there is such a good quality option so close to home.

Absolutely superb! Possibly the best indian food we've ever had. We had starters and poppadoms, followed by the chicken jal hal and chicken korai. Lovely service and highly recommended. Thank you
Booked table for 7:30pm we were shown to our table and that was it sat for 25 minutes no one came to take our order. Food smelt really good but they were very busy with take away orders. It's Indian food served late afternoon into the evening. Really was disappointed.

Oh dear... we normally use this most weeks this time the cost of the takeaway we had to ask for a loan from the bank. The starter was not too bad the rest was terrible we paid so much they even forgot the rice never again

Past experience has told me that Indian Restaurants in small towns and villages tend to be awful but Anisha's bucks the trend! Their food is exceptionally good, all freshly made and delicious. Portion sizes are sensible, the naan bread is gorgeous and they do the best saag paneer in Northumberland.Highly recommended.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.
Nothing good about this
