Town Foot, Rothbury, MorpethVisited on the 12th August 2025. What a lovely restaurant. We hadn't booked and It was very busy when we arrived ( always a good sign). A very pleasant welcome and a table was found for us. Others arriving just after us weren't so lucky.
The food was really good and tasty, portions were generous and the prices were almost on the cheap side, certainly very good value.
Excellent friendly service from all the staff. What more could you want?

The Turks Head

We planned a walk around Cragside, however, it was full. So we had an amble around Rothbury.
It appears to be a dying little town with many closed shops. We decided to have lunch at The Turks Head, and what a great choice it was.
Fantastic food choice and it took a while to choose. My wife had just a starter, but could not finish it all.
I had the 'Dumpling with lean beef mashed potatoes and veg. Absolutely delicious, every bite a delight.
I would highly recommend it.
I expect the other three tables, with folk too late for Cragside, would vouch for it too.

The Narrow Nick
High St, Rothbury, MorpethExcellent pub with great local beer, great atmosphere and a warm welcome from the locals. The young chap behind the bar and the 'older' Scottish chap were particularly welcoming. Exactly how a pub should be.
Went in most nights on our week stay in Rothbury. A highlight of the week.

Front Street, Thropton, MorpethLooking for somewhere to eat, this place has amazing food, really would recommend, staff were lovely and friendly. Very quiet buy it was a Monday evening. Excellent location.

Rocket Pizza
High St, Rothbury, MorpethQuickly prepared fresh and great quality. The best chilli sauce I’ve ever had! I was served with a smile in a lovely family run shop. As other reviews have said, the young lad behind the counter is a credit to his parents. Will visit rothbury again just for a pizza!!

Middleton, MorpethNo fuss, no gimmicks. Real beef, not a catering pack in sight, beautifully cooked and generous portions too. Friendly and attentive service in a traditional country pub setting. Good real ale options from local "First and Last" brewery. Close to Wallington National Trust and Belsay Hall English Heritage.

Anisha's Indian Restaurant
Rothbury, Morpethently ordered from this Indian takeaway and was really impressed! The food arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavour. Every dish was beautifully spiced — rich and aromatic without being overpowering. The portions were generous, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients.
The service was excellent too — everything was neatly packed, delivered on time, and still piping hot. I especially loved the [insert favourite dish, e.g., chicken tikka masala/biryani/saag paneer], which was perfectly cooked and full of authentic taste.
Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely one of the best Indian takeaways I’ve had in a while. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

The Queens Head Hotel
Rothbury, MorpethI recently ran a 3 day photography business workshop at The Queens Head in Rothbury for 13 photographers from around the UK.
The location was perfect, ample parking for everyone who attended, and we had full use of their small function room for the duration of the workshop.
The staff kept us topped up with tea's and coffees throughout the day, and everyone who attended was more than happy with their accommadtion, all commentting on how fantastic the breakfast was.
We ate each night from thier extensive menu, the food was delicious, really good portions and huge deserts too. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
First class service, great attention to detail and a very warm and friendly welcome each day.
Thank you so much to Jordann and her team for helping us run such a successful event. Five stars all round!!
