“Whilst the inn, including rooms look tired & in need of decorating, the friendliness, helpfulness & excellent service of all the staff we had contact with, along with the superb food (both at breakfast & in the evening (the menu is full of so many tempting choices ) & fabulous location (great walking/hiking country with some lovely scenic routes with panoramic & spectacular views starting directly from the inn) more than made up for this. Our room was clean & comfy, & had everything we needed. The view from our room window across to Simonside was beautiful! The tired appearance may actually contribute to the warm, relaxing feel this dog friendly inn has. The cost for our 3 night stay represented excellent value for money. Do we recommend it to others? Absolutely. Will we return? A definite YES! Thank you for making it such an enjoyable stay!”
