I've not been in Newark Asda for years but as I was visiting the town I cancelled my online order and decided to go there.First impressions were good and I got everything I needed. However, as I went in at opening time, I was to find out, at checkout, there were no "normal" checkouts. Not good when I had a trolley full of stuff. I absolutely hate self service tills. Fortunately a charming lady came to my rescue and did all the scanning. Top marks for her.If I had known I would never have gone in. Moral of the story "stick to online ordering!"

This store follows the familiar ASDA blueprint of immersive all-round shopping. While it is not the biggest or grandest ASDA I have seen, it is still quite large and contains a wide array of items. In terms of the environment, the store is clean, well-maintained, and pleasing to look at.Almost everything can be found here - from fresh groceries to clothes, home accessories, drinks, ice cream, gadgets, baked goods, toiletries, etc... the list is endless, really. There is an underground parking lot, as well as one above ground.Prices are reasonable and there are many checkout points - for self-checkout, or otherwise. It really makes for a good shopping experience.

I visited Newark store 13-06-2023 around 6:00 pm and unfortunately had a disappointing customer service experience that left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I asked politely asked Asda staff member on tobacco section for a vape liquid.I didn’t say anything to disrespect her and requested like I do before but she demand me multiple time to say her ‘’please’’ first then she will serve me. I nerve had any experience in my life before that I go to any store and staff request me first to say ‘’please’’ first then they will serve me. I haven’t said anything to hurt her feeling if you have any camera with audio recording you can check.

Woman who served me at the kiosk was miserable & didn't really want to serve me as I didn't want cigarettes (she asked) and because I had 3 frozen items as well as a sandwich... (even though the sandwiches are located right next to the kiosk) .she knocked one of my cans of coke off the counter when scanning (accidentally).. & went: you might wanna go and get another of them... so I picked the can off the floor & exchanged it for another.... looked at myReceipt when in the car and I was charged for 3 cans when I only got 2! So an overall disappointing venture to Asda...

Shop here, however I think the people on the bakery need to go Asda Grantham for some lessons on how to make the doughnuts more appealing. Granthams are spot on, Newark’s haven’t seen any sugar. Other than that not bad place to shop.

Went in asda cafe today with my dad while we waited for my sister in law to come meet us with my 4year old nephew we brought him a kids meal and me and my dad already had a hot chocolate i was then informed by the server that all of us had to have purchased either a drink or food to sit in there i told her me and my dad already had a hot chocolate the server spoke to me in a disgusting manner when she told us that all of us had to have something. i was spoken to like i was a child and not a 33 year old woman. i work for tesco and i wouldnt dream of talking to my customers the way she spoke to me we did say something to her but she blamed it on being busy and a new starter and her manger was sitting in the booth behind us and didnt say anything. definetly will think twice before going in there again.

Don't like the self serve tills. Staff are really friendly and helpful the car park needs keeping an eye on because some people park in the disabled parking and they don't have a Blue badge
