The most amazing food and service! Jackie & Rob are fantastic and couldn’t be any more amazing if they tried. Have been coming for years and couldn’t recommend enough ❤️ carvery to die for!

Arrived at the merry miller for a Christmas lunch with my girlfriends family (a party of 20 people), as soon as I stepped in the door way I was greeted with an incredibly friendly atmosphere, I had a great chat with Jackie (the lovely lady behind the bar) while we waited for our table. We then got seated as the rest of the group of 20 arrived (they were greeted with the same warm and friendly smile that I was greeted with from Jackie), we were sat quickly by the staff (very attentive, smiley and happy), we got our order put through which arrived quickly, it was timed perfectly so that all the people who were having carvery (the carvery was run by Rob who cracked a few good jokes) went up and sat with their food just as we got our food, I myself ordered the char siu pork which was delicious and flavourful, the sauce was incredible and the prawn crackers were a great touch, my girlfriend went for the meatballs, however she changed her mind to the rodeo burger after we had ordered, luckily Jackie was nice enough to change our order, the burger was just incredible, it looked immense and I had a taste of it, trust me on this, it tasted as good as it looked, mouthwatering. After our mains we ordered some deserts which I went for the brownie. Outstanding! The chocolate was rich and creamy which pared beautifully with the vanilla ice cream, I additionally got a chance to try the treacle tart, it was just perfect, unlike other treacle tarts it wasn’t too sweet, just the correct level of sweetness which was beautifully complimented by the custard, they allowed us to stay on the table for an extra 30 mins which we were very thankful for. Overall the meal and the service was incredible, I can’t recommend the merry miller enough, definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a beautiful meal or even if you’re in the area. 11/10 would visit again.

2nd year running we’ve been here for our annual family get together.. A very warm cosy, Christmassy atmosphere greets you ? 20 of us this year and the food was as fabulous as it was last year! we had a mixture of carvery and off menu and most of us had some extremely scrummy puddings, wine & beer were excellent , staff couldn’t do enough for us very efficient and a lovely landlord and landlady who made us feel very welcome indeed …. Thank you so much for making our Christmas get together special ! We will be back next year …

Wonderful Jackie and her great team hosted the wakes for both my parents and on both occasions went above and beyond. The first a carvery and the second a hot and cold buffet. Couldn’t fault a thing with either the food or the service received. What could have been a sad occasion turned into celebrations of lives well lived and both mum and dad would have thoroughly enjoyed both. Thank you very much.

I have ordered a pizza and a pint. That was the worst pizza I ate for last 10 years. Hard to call It pizza. Ready made base from Lidl with bolognese sauce and enormous amount of milk cheap fat cheese. I was so hungry that I forced myself to eat this. Good points are nice and kind staff and general good atmosphere. Despite the fact there was 10% optional tip added to the bill not showing the original amount I left £20 and this review for free.

Had an excellent carvery and the pudding was to die for. Although they were very busy the service was good. Would definitely go again.

We went in with a big booking was left and forgot about in the corner then our waiter came over ordered drinks then the drinks got delivered then a girl approached who looked like she was in gym wear quite rudely asked if we had ordered food we relayed no so she took our order, after waiting a long time they come over and said our food was almost ready for those that ordered Carvery we could go and get it now, the man who served the carvery was very pleasant and friendly. The food however was tastey but very cold the gravy wasn’t even hot. The rest of our food got delivered with side orders missing which just never arrived then after we finished there was a young chap come over to clear our plates and he reluctantly offered desserts basically said they was closing soon so didn’t really want us to have dessert. I felt like we wasn’t really welcome or cared for during our visit and won’t be returning anytime soon, which is a-shame coz the food was was nice just not very hot, the service just let them down.

Phoned when passing, kept carvery open just passed closing so we could eat there and were extremely polite and courteous. Food was delicious, 5 meats all tender and veg fresh even as they were closing. Very impressed.

An absolutely amazing carvery! Plenty of choice and all cooked fresh. The staff were all very happy, polite and helpful which helped set a wonderful atmosphere! Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend!

Came for the carvery - it was the only sunday lunch in the area still available at 18.30. Huge portions, 5 different meats, everything was delicious, dishes of fresh roasties and parsnips kept coming out even as late as we were there. It was a very cosy, low ceilinged old world kind of pub. Beers were a bit expensive but the food was good value so we didn't mind. Staff were attentive, it was busy when we were there, would come again!

Very disappointed with the Sunday lunch. The only good thing was the choice of meats and the Yorkshire puddings. The roast potatoes were awful, no taste whatsoever and all the vegetables were hard with no taste. Shame as we were looking forward to it. Won’t be visiting any time soon. It was very busy but I do wonder about whether the kitchen staff or bosses try any of the food before it leaves the kitchen. Positive note - the waitress was lovely

Had the carvery today and it was very good indeed. Nice thick gravy, good roast potatoes and massive Yorkshire puddings with a good selection of meats and vegetables too! Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're hungry! ??

We decided to try The Merry Miller for a Sunday carvery, well priced but was slightly disappointed in the food....meats were cooked well with decent portions, but the same can't be said for the vegetables, they were very dry! Been out too long under hot lights sadly. Also £7 for a pint of Guinness! Ouch
