Great, welcoming village pub with a delicious Sunday Roast!

Absolutely love this village pub! We are new to the village and have been visiting since Will and Rob opened. Such lovely people, always making it so fun to visit. Good selection of cider and beer on tap and amazing food. The gluten free fish and chips are amazing, and the staff are very knowledgable on coeliac disease. The menu is always getting new options, good for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. The pub quizzes, bingo and other nights they host are thoroughly enjoyable. Will most likely be back this week.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan optionsDietary restrictions: Really good for gluten freeKid-friendliness: Loads of families visit, has a kid menu

Had a very nice evening here. I chose fish and chips and the fish was lovely with nice crispy batter, just how it should be.

We've been here a handful of times already since the reopening and we only have great things to say. The food is top quality - we've loved all the menus we've tried so far, the regular, the Sunday roast and the Argentinian week! They were also able to cater to one very fussy member of our group on one of the occasions, which we're very grateful for. We'll definitely be back, a lot! :)

The new Landlord (Rob and Will) took over the pub in November 2023. and had brought new life to the place. My wife and I had Flank Steaks with Chimichurri at the Argentinian Menu nigh last week. They were excellent. Compliments to the chef.!The beer (Timothy Taylor) is also excellent and there is quite a selection of wines.

Since taking over at The Plough Rob and Will have restored a proper village pub to Appleton.Their welcome is always warm, the pub is fresh, clean. Doug's food is delicious and his pies are outstanding. There are a number of events that appeal to a wide range of people. Long may it continue

So nice to be warmly welcomed, with a smile and called by my name (I'm a local) unlike the recent proprietors. The place is clean, nicely decorated and furnished and is warm. The garden and car park, previously a mess, have been cleaned up. I've had several meals, all good and the presence of a chef is obvious. Not out the freezer, into microwave, and onto plate as how many pubs serve food. Such a change and heartily recommended.

This is my local pub which for many years has had a spotted history. Will and Rob have changed all of that and we now have Landlords that are pleased to see us. They are friendly, good the their job and serve very good food. I give them five out of five. This is how everyone would like their local to be run.

I cannot fault anything about my recent visit. Food was incredible and well priced, the owners were very friendly and the new decor was charming. I hope to be coming back here soon!

Lovely building and nicely renovated. Chairs at the fireplace could do with being wingback or high-backed....sort of feel you are plonked on dining type chairs in the middle of the walkway to the bar. Wine was good. Selection of low alcohol beer/ ciders is very limited. Decent music playing

It's just reopened for the first time since we've lived in the neighbourhood with new ownership. Lovely couple of chaps running it, very friendly and welcoming even with our handful of mucky children. Still refurbishing the kitchen so the menu was limited but nonetheless the homemade burger and pie were both absolutely delicious. Nice, if small, beer selection, and a rareity for round here they had some craft beers (beavertown, brewdog, and brixton breweries) on tap as well as a selection of real ales including darkstar. Place is all newly done inside, clean and nice atmosphere, real open fire. Highly recommend stopping in.Parking: Small-ish pub car park but plenty of space when we went. Lots of on street parking around appleton if it's ever full.Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming to the kids. Kids' food wasn't same quality as the adult food, but it rarely is and the kids loved it anyway, both devoured their plates.

Beautifully redecorated country pub, the new landlord's have done an amazing job reopening it.We had a wonderful warm welcome from both Rob and Will as always, the drinks tasted spot on too.Food is on very soon, but I have been to their previous pub, where they had the same chef and it was delicous. So I know that it will be just as great here! They are dog friendly too!Parking: Dog friendly
