Closed again when should be open.Alrwady sick of the pub being closed as there is a "private function" and now not open on a Monday.Try looking after the locals and people will visit Monday to Friday.Closed on a Monday and your a Hotel.Enough is enough we won't be wasting our time walking all the way there again.Visit the Angel, Littlebury, White Hart instead

Awful experience. It took ages for them to answer the phone when trying to book ( called because online booking not working.)Eventually got through. The person on the phone was doing everything to put me off going. "We are busy" Theres only one of me" booked anyway I needed a meeting point.Day of bookingWalked into the pub. Totally empty! Staff just lolling around. The chef just sitting behind the bar.Asked if I would like a drink " I,d love a coffee ")Sorry the machines broken.. The place was unclean and in need of TLC.What a contrast to my last very pleasant visit in 2022.Very sad.

On arrival we could smell cannabis and urine. The room itself was so cold, grubby carpets, and generally dirty. I sat on the bed which wasn’t steady and made so much noise creaking. I was not very well at the time, and we soon realised that we could not sleep comfortably the night, the bed was not fit for purpose! After less than 5 minutes of entering the property I politely asked for a refund and left the premises. The manager was intimidating, and very arrogant. He informed me he didn’t have our money that booking.com would refund us. On checking with booking.com they agreed to refund providing the manager would agree and they would need to ring for confirmation. I sat waiting for a call back in the car unwell, however when they rang him for confirmation he refused the refund. We could easily have booked the travelodge for £30 instead we paid the extra money to have what we thought somewhere nicer more comfortable and cosier. This definitely was not. The fact we also booked on the same day and arrived within an hour of booking as a gesture the manager could have agreed to the refund and so should booking.com. Poor service all round

The Plough is a cosy, warm friendly pub with traditional features and amazing food. We felt like we had a country holiday after just one night stay. Highly recommend the breakfast and Sunday lunch.

First visit today was for a late breakfast bap (vegetarian) and coffee. Would recommend it, great service, well presented food, good coffee.

Do not use. Booked a table 3 weeks ago for a table of 5. Called them today only to be told they have no record of booking even though we have the confirmation email and that they have booked in a private event so they can’t honour the booking. Seems to me that they got a more lucrative offer and decided not to honour the bookings already made. Terrible service
