“We were staying not far from this pub and it was recommended to us - we were certainly not disappointed! An idyllic location with beautiful views. We were greeted warmly by the manager, who was really friendly and helpful (and made a big fuss of our cocker spaniel which he loved). We were shown to our table and served drinks by two more friendly staff. Now the part about going above and beyond their duties - my wife had a dizzy spell and felt a bit odd, then actually fainted - the chef and all staff were so attentive, bringing cold flannels to put on her head and staying with us (we had our two young children and the dog with us so it would have been really tricky without the help we were so readily given. When my wife came around and felt a little better, the food arrived and it was delicious - only sorry that my poor wife couldn't eat much (so we will definitely return so she can experience the meals). I can't find high enough praise for this place - superb in every way. Would recommend to anyone.”

“A pretty great Cotswold pub! Had a table reversed for a group of 4 on a sunny Sunday. Needn't have bothered. The pub was very quiet and we were able to sit outside which was great! (Meant we waited a little for them to take our order but we were all busy talking and enjoying the sun). The pub had a great vibe and had a typical Cotswold décor. They are also dog friendly which was perfect. As for the food, the Sunday lunches were spot on. Great presentation, tasted amazing and came as quite a large portion!. All in all, can't fault the Carpenters arms. Highly recommend for a quiet lunch if in Buford”

“What a fantastic experience start to finish. We came over from Northern Ireland. Time was against us getting from Holyhead to the pub and we where late for our booking. The staff where so accommodating and understanding though, got us another table pretty much straight away. Excellent service, Excellent food and brilliant atmosphere. The live band was an extra bonus as well. Will definitely be back. Amazing work all.”

“Sophie our server was sooooo nice and accommodating. It was so much fun going to where my ancestors came from. I know that great grandfather's back millennia helped build the Burford bridge over the little river that's at the foot of high Street and so it was fun seeing all these places and having lunch there and thinking about my families connection to the town. Burford is considered to be the gateway to the cot waltz. The cot walls has an old area that has changed for a little over the hundreds of years and has amazing architecture and houses and farms. It's surrounded by rolling Hills and Dells and little rivers running through it. Burford is considered the gateway to the cot walls because it showcases several styles of very old architecture. that's still an excellent condition. If you have questions about what to do while you're there go to the Tolsey house. But I have to say there is no question that when I got there And it was lunchtime that I selected the angel at Burford to eat the fine food that they serve there. The staff quality of the food everything was amazing. I will return time and time again.”
