Good food, nice location, but honestly sneaky service charges are just off-putting. Tipping should be the choice of the customer not forced upon them making it awkward to ask to remove it.Do you not pay the staff enough that you need to charge extra for their salary? This isn’t the USA. Up your prices if you can’t afford to pay wages.
We wanted to stay in the Burford area and came across this little, inexpensive gem! Absolutely delightful setting, interior, staff and food...the menu had the traditional, but with a tasty twist. Will definitely stay here again when visiting this area.

Delicious goats cheese and caramelised shallots sourdough bun with homemade coleslaw with a small bowl of chunky chips for £7. Perfect lunch after a country walk. Lovely pub, beautifully and tastefully done up,. Sat next to the fire at the bar and staff were very friendly. Looks like a great place to go in the summer as you can sit in the garden next to the river. Looks like dogs very welcome
