Delicious food, charismatic service and our baby was made to feel very welcome. The village of Charlbury is picture perfect so do wander around before/after.

Super-delicious meal (we had three generous courses and would have eaten more if internal “room” allowed ?) and smiley, charming service! Good value, lovely buzzy atmosphere, very happy to recommend!Food & drinks: Perfectly balanced menu, quality ingredients, deliciously prepared (leeks, sweet & silky, slow-baked in cheese sauce with crunchy breadcrumb & Parmesan topping…fresh shredded Hispi cabbage in a light dressing, a modern take on slaw…perfectly pink lamb…beautifully cooked pollock…just-chewy custard meringue, not too sweet & served with pink rhubarb, all ???).

Was wondering round this morning (Easter Sunday) trying to find somewhere to grab a coffee. This place was recommended.Unfortunately, they weren’t opening until 12, some two hours later. The friendly staff still kindly offered us a seat and we had the most fantastic tea and coffee.Friendly staff and a roaring fire. A must visit.

We went to The Bull in Charlbury for lunch on the 28th March. We had the soda bread, red mullet with langoustine gravy, and leeks with Lincolnshire poacher as our starters/sharers. The bread was fantastic; it was soft and chewy, and had a delicious flavour that worked really well with the butter. The red mullet was delicious and the langoustine gravy was begging to be cleaned up with some bread. The leek was very filling, they were not skimpy with the cheese at all.For our mains we had a flat iron steak and the pollock with bone marrow. Both were absolutely divine. For our desserts we had the cookie with milk and an almond and plum tart. The cookie was gooey and chewy and chocolatey. Really nice. The almond tart was amazing, with some lovely pistachio in there, and the plums added a nice tartness to compliment the nuttiness of the tart. Alongside our food we had The Bull bitter and the red wine from Romania. The bitter was really good, and the red was so good that we saved the name to try and buy it ourselves! All of the staff were lovely, but our server Sally was above and beyond. She couldn't do enough for us (or anyone else for that matter). All in all, if you are able to go then you must go.

We had a lovely meal which was our first visit. Staff were welcoming and friendly, food was excellent and good value. We just wish we had bigger bellies so we could eat more!, .

We had an exceptionally good lunch served with no fuss. Given that some of the wines on offer are good, an upgrade of the glassware would be advisable. Otherwise, a fantastic lunch.

My wife and I celebrated my birthday, with dinner at The Bull. The staff, the food, the wine and the ambiance in the place were all top drawer.Considering in was a Tuesday evening and the weather was awful, the bar and restaurant were both full, and having dined there for the first time, I can see why.If you’ve not been, give it a go, you won’t regret it.Food & drinks: Fantastic menu and a solid wine list. You can’t go wrong.

Best pub restaurant with rooms that I have been to in yearsI was tired when I arrived at 7 pm ; tired and exhausted; emotionally drained after 2 days of the funeral of a close friend and following a 3 hour drivePicture this 70 year old in a sorry state .What followed was an unfolding series of delights. They had a car park , fabThe atmosphere warm and warm , the young people who looked after me were kindThe room simple stylish and large ; the bed soooo comfortable and the linen very high quality …. Best pillows everTo the bar and lounge ; gorgeous log fire with a sink in leather chair right by to slump intoYoung lady says … Can I bring you a drink over? I told the days events And yes please a gin and tonicOh my goodness she says … I ‘ ll bring you a large one …Dinner was super , the white burgundy outstandingThe care and the skill with which these lovely people restored my spirits was a wonderI guess there is a truth in the belief that great service looks easy , but behind it all was a very professional capable teamI will long remember my first stay at The Bull, and I hope there will be many more

Had our anniversary meal here, very sweet and informed waitress who made our evening very special with a card on the table, celebratory drink and her general loveliness. Food was lovely, and the atmosphere is very cosy!Parking is slightly small but unavoidable is a small village.
