I had an amazing experience at this pub! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our drinks were always full and our food was delicious. Speaking of food, the menu had a great variety of options, and everything we ordered was superb. The ambiance here is perfect for a casual evening with friends or a cozy date night. They also have a fantastic selection of drinks, including excellent local beers.I can’t wait to return and enjoy more memorable moments at this gem of a pub!Rooms: Quite warm…

This is one of the most cosy and fancy Restaurants I've ever been to! And the food is delicious. Please try the beat root, the Salmon & the CHARDONNAY as well as home made bread & butter! This location alone was worth the travel from London to here for about one hour twenty by GWR!

My partner and I recently stayed at The Kingham Plough for two nights, but unfortunately, were very disappointed with the experience and will definitely not be returning. The positives first. All staff, friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had breakfast and and evening meal which were good. Now we come to the accommodation which was a disgrace and the worst we have ever stayed in! We were taken to our room via a staircase which was shabby to say the least. The room was even worse. Firstly, the room bore no resemblance to the photos. The headboard was heavily stained, dirty pillows and pillow protectors, again heavily stained . Scruffy paintwork. Strange bathroom arrangement, where the bath, toilet and sink were in different areas of the accommodation. The Guest Information Folder was covered in grease marks.I spoke to the manager, who accepted that the room was not up to standard and offered a night's accommodation with a complimentary bottle of wine. He also said that the room was due for refurbishment, which contradicts what is stated on the website, the pub is " beautifully refurbishment throughout " This pub is NOT "beautifully refurbished throughout "I have also written to the owners of The Kingham Plough, Matt and Katie Beamish, who have also accepted that room was not up to standard, and based on my favourable comments on the staff and food, hope we would return to either of their 3 pubs in the future, (at our own expense). No chance! The owners state that they have 20 years experience in hospitality. So how can they allow guests to stay in a room and pay money (£175.00) for accommodation in such an appalling state? I did send a further email requesting a refund on our second night's stay, but to this I haven't received even the courtesy of a response. This tells me everything about attitude to customer service.Rooms: Awful

We dined at the restaurant, and had a wonderful time! Great food and service, griendly atmosphere and a celebration to the taste buds. Highly recommended, don't skip dessert!

This is a great restaurant and pub facility with fantastic surroundings. Lunch is an exceptional experience and service however, an evening is a somewhat different experience altogether. We specifically asked for a table in a part of the dining /bar area when we book and, to make matters worse we were sat at the table when we booked it for the following week so no confusion there. We were assured that would be the table although, instead on arrival 3 day later, we were told that specific table we had pre booked was not available! We ended up on a ‘window sill’ seating arrangement, the most uncomfortable eating position I’ve experienced since short trousers’, committed to a single course and left. Both sides lost out as our 3 course dinner experience and bottle of wine was exchanged for a sharp drink, single course and out. We would have been happy to pay any surcharge, if requested for a table allocated for more than the two of us if required. Poor service and clearly no organisation.

Have stayed here several times.Unfortunately my latest experience has been very disappointing. Made a booking on the day via phone giving my CC details and phone number to secure the room. The reservation manager on the phone said it was all fine. We turned up at 22h30 (which I had informed the hotel we would) to find out our room had been given away / rebooked. No email or voicemail were left. Only a couple of missed calls (I was in the countryside with poor reception).Night manager was not apologetic and said something was probably wrong with my details. Added that it was protocol to cancel the room if they didn’t manage to reach you. Didn’t even asked my full name or who from his team I had spoken with that day.We had to drive back to London at midnight after trying to find a room in the Cotswolds for an hour. That’s really poor business and clients relation management from my 15 year experience working in the hospitality industry.

Matt Beamish and his team did the catering for our wedding the weekend of the 9th of September. It was for 180 people and it is the finest food and service I have ever had at a wedding. Matt and his charming team exceeded every expectation possible and each plate of food had the quality of if they were cooking for two. At every stage of the process of organising the day in the weeks ahead of it, he played with a straight bat and there were no surprises at the end, I couldn't recommend his team at The Kingham Plough and Potted Goose more highly and have had literally dozens of plaudits to this effect. A massive thank you for making a very special day for us even more special

This restaurant does not deserve at all the reputation it boosts. We have been put in a very uncomfortable table (if you can name it a table, for there was only one chair to sit and the remaining place was on a bench 6-7 inches large), even though we had booked in advance and normal tables remained available throughout our dinner. The starter with fish was so spicy one would believe to be in an Indian restaurant. The wine served was definitely hot (alas, typical of the UK but you should not pay 80 GBP each to be served hot red wine), and if you order by the glass they do not even show the bottle from where the wine comes: it could be any wine anywhere. Finally, I ordered a glass of port wine which was served again hot and directly in the glass, tasting like cork, and probably from a bottle opened centuries ago. Bad!

I have been here twice now and I have not been disappointed, the food is absolutely lovely and good portion sizes too.. the menu has lots of variety. Service was really good and all the staff are so friendly. Not to mention how beautiful and clean the restaurant itself is and in a stunning location. If you’re visiting the Cotswolds definitely give the kingham plough a visit !

Booked for supper last night whilst visiting the area. We were seated in the very pleasant front bar area as we had our spaniel in tow. Very friendly & efficient service - GREAT food & interesting menu.

Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening. We did book but wasn’t too busy. We were staying in Kingham so also visited a few other times for a drink with the ?. Would definitely return!

Deliver what you say you willIf you are a pub/restaurant off the beaten track which requires guests to drive out of their way to get to you and you advertise "alongside our all-day bar menu and à la carte dining" then don't put on a miserable face and turn people away cause you are not doing food (for whatever undisclosed reason).Arrived at 3.45PM and walked past people in the garden eating pub food only to be told when I picked up a menu that they weren't doing food that day. They then adjusted that to say the kitchen closed at 4PM (which would have meant we had another 10 mins to order and we had a good idea of what we wanted) and were promptly made to feel unwelcome. If you want to be in the hospitality business then understand the brief about being hospitable!Walkability: It isn'tFood & drinks: Changes availability without notice

Went there for my birthday, but hadn't realised it had been changed! I'm disabled with a stick and we reserved a table, but hadn't realised it was very small! It was lovely before! I'm sorry but won't be going back again! Service was OK, location is fantastic! But that it!

Stayed in a room at the front / very nice - roll top bath and was nearly perfect but it was very warm and outside temp @20 so I guess it would be unbearable if we had the summer that the BBC would love to report on. They did provide a fan but probably not enough - it would prevent me from staying if it was hot. Drinks in the evening were excellent and we stayed outside which was nice. Breakfast very good.
