Stayed for a three night break with the purpose of visiting Oxford and surrounding area. Friendly welcome on arrival; shown to our room which was spacious and well decorated.Ate in the pub on two nights. Excellent choices on the menu. Both night we ate very well, quality of food was high. Service was efficient and very friendly. With a hearty selection for breakfast this pub offers excellent value for money. Throughout our visit the staff were friendly and affable. Will certainly look to stay in one of their sister hotels.

Really great midweek dinner. Great burger and chips, superb pie and mash. Service from Jess was attentive and kind. Would recommend and will come back.A welcome return to form for this lovely pub.

The Sunday roast at this charming, country pub was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere. The traditional British roast was cooked to perfection, with succulent slices of tender pork, crispy crackling, deep Yorkshire puddings, and a medley of perfectly roasted vegetables. The rich gravy added an extra layer of deliciousness to the already flavoursome dish. The portion size was generous, leaving us feeling fully satisfied. The pub's charm and friendly service made for a truly memorable birthday experience. A must-visit for anyone craving a hearty Sunday roast in a stunningly picturesque setting.

The Trout at Tadpole Bridge is a beautiful, well presented pub in the very picturesque location by the river Thames. The garden is utterly stunning with views over river and a stone bridge. The food was delicious, the menu was diverse and I really appreciated that there was a children’s menu. The tables were well spread out throughout the pub, with various seating levels, from cosy bar side tables to a more sophisticated sit down dinning area.Service was generally very good, my only criticism is that I had to ask for the sides for our dinners to come out as they had been forgotten. That said, our party had a wonderful trip and I can’t wait to return. I feel like we’ve found a real local treasure which I’ll be recommending to everyone.Food & drinks: A wide selection of food on the menu. We went for Sunday roast and I feel a good selection was given. A children’s menu was available and this came on a colouring in sheet with crayons to keep the children entertained. Great touch!

Very very nice Sunday lunch! Being vegetarian it can be quite difficult to find a good quality roast that meets the same standards as the regular meat roast but this was great!Lots of choice for drinks and a lovely atmosphere as well!We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful dinner on Thursday of last week, it was my brother's birthday and he had never been to The Trout before, he hates night driving but absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. We were absolutely stuffed so couldn't fit in pudding, in fact the portion for my starter was so generous I brought the remains home for my lunch. Well done.

Visited for Sunday lunch on the way home from a trip to Wales. Very busy & car park was full - always a sign of a good pub.The location beside the Thames is beautiful. We ate inside & our order was taken promptly by a friendly waitress. The food was delicious. Would we return - definitely!Food & drinks: My husband & I chose the Trout fishcake & accompanied it with a cauliflower cheese to share. The portion size was just right. We had ice cream for myself & my husband chose the Nutella mini doughnuts. Again very enjoyable. We had a coffee each also.

We ate outside, under the big awning. No view of the river but a lovely calm quiet atmosphere. (It was a Thursday evening.)The burger was very good. The salmon burger less so but still good. We'd definitely go back.

Lovely setting next to the Thames - we arrived by river. Sat in the TeePee in the lovely garden setting.Menu is limited but very tasty. We went for burgers ? salmon and beef and steak noodle dish. Steak was cooked beautifully. Food very tasty.Pudding - date and sticky toffee pudding a bit dry but very tasty.Great helpful friendly staff and lovely setting.

The food was just awful , I ordered a Moroccan salad and the couscous came from a packet… shocking .They tried to tell me this was a special couscous ? I asked for my money back and left. I will never go back

We had a marvellous room which had external door to balcony area, separate lounge/tv suite, clawed bath and large bedroom. Fresh milk supplied for our hospitality tray and coffee plunger. Bottled mineral and sofa water also included. Beautiful river bank setting. Room not quite ready when we arrived but a quiet drink in the garden passed the time quickly. Unfortunately we were unable to eat in as a large group had already booked in.

Great location by the river, large garden. Plenty of free parking available. Good reasonable priced menu. Friendly, helpful staff. We only had a drink as we were passing, but we will be back to try out their food soon.

Hosted two friends from Cornwall and as ever attentive staff, particularly Jess, who as always showed genuine interest in our choices of food and wine ... a valued staff member in my opinion along with the rest of the young team lead by the consistently cheerful Dan ... thank you again. Again my guests complimented the room and had a great nights sleep. Regards DR.

Great food (veggie and non alike). Served by Danni, who looked after us very well. Rooms are styled uniquely and clean with great complimentary items.

Was staying down the road and saw this pub so thought we'd give it a try as we have a few Butcombe pubs local to us.We were well impressed with the friendly welcome, food was great and location was right on the river, with great facilities to cater for events too its a place we will definitely visit again.
