“I visited The Golden Ball with my friends on a sunny Saturday for lunch and we had a marvelous time. We sat outside in one of the tables in the garden. The service was friendly and attentive. Now the indisputable standout was the food, truly superb and way above the standards of a pub. You will feel like eating in a fine restaurant while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the countryside. Each dish was exquisitely presented and full of flavour. Even the bread and butter were homemade by the chef. I can't recommend the experience enough ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“This is a lovely, family-run pub with a terrific breakfast. We stayed in Cherry which was very comfy with separate access from the pub, tea-making things, piping hot water. We had a very nice chat with Dan over the Full English and smoked salmon with scrambled egg. Ditto with a one of couple of non-residents who came in for breakfast too. Stoke Row has a fascinating history with its ornate well and cherry orchard given by an Indian maharaja and the surrounding beech woods are fabulous, specially at this time of year. Many thanks, Dan and to your lively family. Hope the maths homework went down well!”
“Friendly welcome, comfy cosy pleasant place to watch football and eat lunch. Good beer, good food, reasonably priced.Vegetarian options: Veggie balti was excellent.”
“Excellent Sunday roast and very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be going ”
“Lovely little place. Service was so friendly and professional and food was delicious. Especially the baked Camembert ”
“Great food, great service. We sat in the garden and ordered asparagus risotto and the fish and chips. Delicious. However, the best thing was… their Pimms!!!! Might have been the nicest Pimms I’ve ever had”
“Beautiful old pub, lots of quirky features and decorations. The pub is a stones throw from the river and has a lovely walled garden in the rear. Great selection of local beers and wines, didn't eat but the food that was being served looked and smelt amazing. The landlord and lady were very friendly and accommodating.Would thoroughly recommend for a drink or a bite to eat if in the area”
“Rather fabulous experience and beautifully located so close to the town. Dropped in unexpectedly after a dog walk and a local exploratory trip on a whim. Charming service and welcome. Dogs allowed inside and out including water bowls. Wonderful ale, nice setting, young enthusiastic service with a smile. The food was beautifully cooked and the beef Sunday roast a delight. Chose to dine at the leather sofa area but plenty of free formal tables available. They have this place spot on. Well done, you deserve to be very successful.”
“We did not make any reservations as we arrive at Henley-on-Thames by accident. The young waitress was very friendly and after talking to her supervisor, we were offered a table but we have to make sure that we finish our meals before the next reservation. The food is great, atmosphere is great, it was a rainy days so we have to find a shelter and we ended up here for lunch. Thanks to the young friendly waitress(sorry i didnt take down her name) that makes us feel relax having our lunch there. Really recommended, even if you just need a place for a drink.”
“A warm welcome, fizz in the new lounge/conservatory, nice sized restaurant (not huge) , lovely ambiance, exceptional food (as always) & great service 10/10 ?”
