Just off the beaten track, a lovely ‘proper’ pub with great service. My only negative would be I was hoping for a better choice of cask ales but they have plenty of other beer. Guess they’re serving what sells.Perfect pub if you want to avoid the crowds and tourists coming in off the river.NB. It was a certain Mr Harrison’s local and supposedly was occasionally seen enjoying their hospitality

We were in Henley for the weekend, so found this pub when exploring the town. It is out the way, up the hill behind the town hall, but such a welcoming atmosphere when we entered. The barman was friendly and the cosiness was so welcoming. A local was very positive of the pub and this showed in the coming and going of other patrons. We didn't have food or accommodation, but felt very comfortable just having drinks and chatting. Long live these traditional aspects of the pub trade.Walkability: Near to town centre.

Excellent sunday roast - tasty and great value. Veggie option a bonus. Definitely need to book in advance...Food & drinks: Breakspears beer and decent wine. Food simple but they use fresh ingredients and care to provide a full flavour. The pies are great.

Superb little pub.... had a great night and made to feel welcome by the locals.... OK so England did beat Wales in 6 Nations but very welcoming before that ?

Best Pizza in Henley on Thames!

Really lovely old school pub, serving local Breakspear ales and all other usual stuff. Didn't eat here or stay in the rooms, so I can't comment. Close to town centre.

As a pub goes, it typically has a bustling atmosphere and it offers a good range of beers (incl. the local brakespeares') for a reasonable-ish price. There's a large beer garden which is great in the summer and the inside is typically very warm and cosy in the winter. The pub is a great stop on the Henley Ale Trail but if you're not a group doing the tour, don't be surprised if you get a fair number of groups coming and going from the pub each weekend day as they rack up their 10 pints in the area.Walkability: Easy to access but the pub is a short walk up a hill from town.

Possibly the best proper pub in Henley. Unspoilt inside, well kept beer and popular with locals. Lovely beer garden for summer days and rated highly for Sunday lunch. Slightly tucked away from main street but well worth a visit.

Located on the far side of town this venue is well worth staying at if you’re in the area (bed only). Our room was accessed from the bar (access also via a rear door to the outside) via a narrow flight of stairs with very low ceilings (so mind you head). The room was very spacious, smart and well decorated. The guy who checked us in was very friendly and helpful and our bags had already been taken to the room for us. The price of the room was very good for this area and was room only and included a bath which is unusual these days. As we were walking part of the Thames path the venue kindly agreed to take delivery and pass on our bags to the baggage transfer company (so a very big thanks).
