Excellent pub. Only had drinks, but the pub was warm with a lovely atmosphere. It's bigger than it seems from the roadside.

The best ever Sunday lunch. About time we provided a review. Have visited numerous times with my family over the years. Fabulous pub, wonderful views, superb food. Booked again for Sunday lunch in Feb for my dad's birthday. You must go...won't be disappointed but do book early as it gets booked up.

A quick lunch on my own in an establishment I have frequented for 20+ years. Very efficient attention and service by the sole manager, excellent starter served as a main course, sat by a log fire, read my book and left a very happy man.

Fantastic views from the garden, very cosy country pub.

Cosy table for four near the open log fire on a frost covered night .Delicious cheese and smoked haddock soufflé followed by French partridge, both outstanding . Not easy to get partridge spot on as most chefs over cook them . Tender, juicy and a10 from me !

Noticed food on floor tried to point out to staff discreetly but they didn't pay attention had to wait for drinks and had to pay a service charge dissatisfied although a lovely pub, not a place we will make the effort to

Lovely pub with amazing views. Really interesting and tasty food but a real shame their cheese and mackerel soufflé isn't on the menu anymore... it was the reason we walked around maidensgrove Common!

Nice pub, with some nice views over the Chilterns. Went for lunch had the duck liver parfait, on a Wednesday and there was another 15 to 20 people in there, speaks volumes having that number of people, at that time of the week. Would highly

A wonderful find. The food was delicious. We were only there for a light lunch after a morning's walk, but temptation got the better of us. Imam Bayaldi (baked stuffed aubergine) followed by chocolate marquise. It would be just mean to remove a star for their one faux pas: earl grey tea presented as an attractive glass cup of boiled water with a separate teabag (the Earl would shudder). Everywhere looks better on a beautiful sunny day, but sitting in the beer garden looking across in the direction of Stonor with red kites circling around was really delightful.
