We are 4 men in our sixties and entered the Al Taif Indian restaurant in Kennington at 20.45, last night, Saturday 13 Jan 24, with the intension of having a meal. We were met by a male waiter who told us “We close at 22.00”……….No option to order quickly, no apology, just this obnoxious waiter who had no idea about customer service. At best I would advise the owner of the restaurant to arrange some customer care training for him. However, for us it will be too late, our first and last visit. I don’t want to rub salt into the wound, but I am going to. We went onto Abingdon Spice restaurant and had a lovely meal delivered by professionals.

I’ve walked into Al Talif without great expectations and I actually had an amazing food and cultural experience. I wanted to go off-the-beaten track and trying something different from the normal Indian cuisine dishes.I’ve ordered a Lamb Shaktora with garlic naan, which is a traditional dish from Bangladesh. The food was incredibly rich, spicy but very well balanced with the bitterness of the citrus after taste. The place is very cozy and staff very welcoming and happy to share a talk with you. Define my worth to stop by and dip into the Bangladeshi cuisine.

Excellent Food and Drinks, great service , very authentic and enjoyable. Fresh and reasonably priced .
Very nice food, I had a chicken Korma, which was amazing. The food was fresh, hot and well presented. Also had some poppadoms plain and spicy with all the fresh dips. Was later evening time so was quiet, but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to everyone.

We love Al Taif and get takeaway quite often from there. The team is friendly and the food is great! Lots of vegetarian options and meat eater options alike. Their naan breads are fantastic too!
