Beautiful pub, coffee and cake deal was a great start, followed by trying the ciders (my friends tried the other stuff too!)

I usually go if I'm catching a bus home after shopping. It's location in between two colleges on the main Banbury road ensures there's always a few punters in there.I liked the bar snacks. The staff were pretty busy entertaining each other last time I went in.Didn't feel like interrupting so only stopped for one. It's not always like that.Guess it depends on the time of day.

My kind of pub. It has an interesting interior and is a great place for conversation.

After walking a long way from the railway station following our friends recommendation we arrived at the pub on a Thursday afternoon a week before Christmas to be greeted with the news there was no beer available ! All the real ales were off due to awaiting a delivery and cleaning of the pipes. Suffice to say we left.

3 people behind the bar one making coffee, one serving another customer and another behind the bar texting on his phone, Not once did he look up acknowledge or consider that we were waiting on him for what felt like an eternity. Piece of advice for you, customers come first it doesn’t matter if it’s a damp Monday afternoon or a busy Saturday night,if people have walked through the door that’s a sale that pays your wages. I won’t be back again which is a shame as we just started thinking that the lamb & flag was becoming a regular visit when in Oxford. Went to the royal Blenheim in st ebbs better service and altogether more welcoming.

New ownership. New management. New atmosphere. Rammed, noisy, busy, chaotic, and full of intense conversation. Have been coming here since 1982.Beer choice is broad and excellent.Staff seem to know their beers.Be prepared to duel for a seat, because you may not find an empty one.The other part of the “new atmosphere” is that the old (Medieval) loos have been massively revamped and no longer pong. ;-)
Top Bannana, a variety of unusual beers on tap
