Motorhome stop over. Made to feel very welcome on arriving. Pie night at the pub. Fantastic homemade pie and they were freshly made for the vegetarian!Would definitely recommend a visit!

Danke!

Lovely, friendly and clean pub stay. Much prefer this to usual hotels. Got nice bar snacks and good beers available. Nice and convenient especially after landing at Heathrow

Warm welcome from friendly lady who is the niece of the owner. The room was clean and comfortable. The tea and coffee was in good supply. The tea set lovely with teapot and tea cosy all beautifully matching. Unfortunately we couldn't get hot water from the shower. We didn't get breakfast although we thought it was B & B. There was nobody about when we came down so just left. I wouldn't write the place off though. Having read so many good reviews maybe it was just a bad time for us.

We were out for the day and I rang to ask if I could book a table for 14 people at last min notice, the owner Sheila said of course, she had 2 hrs to prepare before we arrived and the meal was a full Sunday Roast and it was fantastic!

Only went to the pub for a drink and sandwich. Quality of food was poor and ridiculously over-priced. Old pub shabby and run down. Disappointed and. Felt ripped off ! 2 sandwiches and one beer and small coke £32.

Such a warm welcome when we arrived, and the owner really bent over backwards to look after us. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. Great atmosphere in the bar, very friendly locals. We didn't have a meal but asked if we could just have some chips and we got a huge bowl of proper home made chips which were gorgeous. Amazing value as the price of staying was very affordable. Would highly recommend.

Lovely old-fashioned pub, staff went above and beyond they kept the kitchen open until we arrived. The food was amazing. Please take time and support these guys ?

This was a chance booking but what a find. Arriving late and weary after a delayed flight from Italy, I was met by the lovely Sheila. She welcomed me, fed me and generally looked after me . My room was small but I was very comfortable in the 4 poster bed with every amenity I could need, including a tea cosy and hot water bottle. Englands Rose is full of character. If you are looking for corporate and conformity, it’s not for you. If you love character, a very warm welcome, quirky and interesting decor and great home cooked food, Englands Rose is a great stay. Thankyou for looking after me SHEILA.

So glad we made this pit stop! Popped in here as it was half way to our final destination, Sheila was so welcoming and accommodating for us and our baby boy! The food was lovely (ham egg and chips), the coffee was wonderful (and so needed), and the staff were friendly and polite. We'll try to stop off on the way home too. Thank you x
