Decent soup, OK chips, both overpriced but served by lovely staff in a very nice location.

Great food and service but unfortunately had very little atmosphere.

We choose this pub as we were coming from Guildford to take my mother-in-law, who lives in Abingdon, out for Sunday lunch and we wanted something a bit different. This was such a lovely little find! Fab country pub, lovely staff and great food. We were in the back room which was a little chilly to begin with but it warmed up and we could have had a few more greens with our Sunday roasts but we loved this pub, run by really attentive lovely staff, so much we had to give it 5 stars

Used to love coming here however the cost of meals and the quality has really taken a sharp turn in the wrong direction. 2 adults and 2 children to have a roast dinner and a pudding with a drink for nearly £140 is bonkers. Charged £5 for a kids Apple Juice which says it all.

A little gem. Fabulous food and delightful service.

Wonderful country pub with atmosphere, very friendly staff and excellent food. We like walking and find this the perfect pub after a country walk. In fact they have a free leaflet of local walks which we used, so did a circular starting from the pub car park.

Came for dinner. The atmosphere and service was great. The food was ok not anything special. Food was overpriced and limited menu for vegetarians.

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent country pub with outstanding food. The service was exceptional. We used it as a base for a country walk and had lunch there afterwards. This will certainly become a regular for us.

Very polite and pleasant staff, prompt service. A nice pint but the food was very average and clearly bought in.

We have been here before and it was lovely but recently went in for lunch and was so disappointing. The staff were pleasant but not too effective, we waited for an hour for food with a young child yet others coming in after were served first and they were not that attentive or communicated anything let alone say sorry for the wait. The food was ok but the vegetables in the risotto were not cooked and inedible. The staff just said oh and nothing more was done. So many dogs were allowed into the eating area as well, we love dogs but there is a time and place and when there was growling and barking throughout in the restaurant, not sure why they are not restricted to the bar and garden especially due to hygiene. Finally as we had waited so long we went out to the play area which looks as though it has been neglected. It was dirty with glass bottles left in the climbing frame. Such a shame has this had new management in the last year? It was so disappointing and with the number of nice places in the area we won’t be rushing back if at all.

Enjoyable evening spent sat in the lovely garden. Food was nice, particularly enjoyed the starters, lots of pub classics too

We come from France and were on vacation in a cottage a few meters away from the pub. Our car had broken down and we had nowhere else to go to eat so we're glad we found this pub.The food was good, though a bit too pricey imo, but what we enjoyed the most was the warm welcome by the waiter. He was so friendly and nice, he clearly was the highlight of our unlucky and unpleasant holiday we just had. Everybody else in the county had been mean or unwelcoming to us, except for him. He spoke with us and seemed interested in us. Most importantly: he was smilling! He is the first english waiter/service person we saw smiling in the week. So, a huge thank you to you Sir for making us feel welcome and for making our last evening in the country, a success <3 keep being like you are, nice and fun and welcoming to strangers.
