Chicken tikka masala was literally like a can of heinz tomato soup with a few bits of grilled chicken floating about in it. No trace of Indian spices or flavours at all. It was edible, the naan was OK, but for the money it's just nowhere near good enough.

The standard of food at the Elaichi has gone up and down over the years, and is currently at one of its low points. We wanted to order a takeaway on a Saturday evening. On asking whether a change could be made to one dish due to dietary restrictions, were told that it was not possible as they "use the same gravy for everything". My partner ordered a main dish, side dish and plain naan (£19.40). I gave it a miss. Picking up the meal at 8pm, only one table was occupied and there was only one other order awaiting collection, so I guess that others are giving it a miss as well.

Poppadoms to die for in here..so light and crispy. The food is just delicious and the young ladies that served us were so lovely and polite. Not a great wine choice or discussion. Unfortunately, there is no atmosphere at all. There is a couple of lovely wall prints on great big empty walls...no plants...no music we could hear. Get some rubber plants if not real ones as there isn't much light....or paint the walls and get some Indian music playing to encourage more people inside. Get a better wine list and educate the staff about wine even just a little bit.Fabulous food, takeaways are busy. So much potential. We will be back because the food was fab and it's nice and local but the restaurant could be fab too!Parking: Depends what time you go but there is plenty of spaces in the Grove shops car park.Wheelchair accessibility: It's all on ground floor so wheel chairs could definitely get in and they have a nice big loo too.

We've visited Elaichi twice for an evening meal in recent weeks. Both times were excellent. We like to have a meat and a vegetarian dish and have not been disappointed in the quality of the meals. The staff are lovely and it is family run. We'll be back!

Pains me to rate this as I have as the food is absolutely top notch! This used to be our local and we look back 6 yrs later remembering how good it used to be so we decide to book a table in Jan.It took 2 hours in total from start to finish in wait times. Once the food was out there was nothing wrong but I think it's a staff shortage? The ambiance needs to be sorted it was very cold (not their fault if energy crisis affecting) the walls were a grey colour very spatse with no warmth. I normally don't care about that sort of thing but it's so noticable even I made a comment as did the whole party

Excellent food, busy, buzzy atmosphere, the waiter didn't fetch the ice I asked for twice.

Not sure what's happened but it feels like Elaichi has gone down hill quite a bit. This was our go to Indian takeaway and was a favourite for some years. However the last two meals lately have been shocking. Very bland watered down curry with dry chicken and piss poor rice. The prices have jumped up and the quality has drastically fallen. Can't see myself using Elaichi again.

I have only had a takeaway but it was awful. The first i had was okay, but then had a second a few weeks later and it was tasteless.

Same basic sauce for different dishes. Menu promised much in taste..but delivered little. In view of that ... not good value either. Sorry but will not be coming back.
