Lovely pub. Came a few years ago and drinks were extortionate but now very reasonable (by Cotswold's standards), lovely staff and always quite busy. Highly recommend. Lovely caravan site next door.

It's probably one of the best pubs I've been in in years. This pub has it all, great food, great service, and the atmosphere and vibe are top-notch. This is certainly not a dead pub. It's vibrant and fun. The staff made sure everything was OK at every single turn. They didn't snub is for not being locals. They clearly value all of their custom. I can't recommend this pub enough, it will not disappoint. Thank you to all of the staff there for making our weekend a memorable one ?

We visited for lunch, with two dogs and three of us, on a rainy British Thursday and it was great!Firstly, dogs and kids are very welcome and the team here at The Black Horse are lovely. Its got a great local pub feel and you can eat and drink from the plentiful main menu, specials or lunch menu (dependent on time of day of course). The roaring fire on a wet and cold day was well appreciated and well tended to ??The food, was brilliant. We had lunch, so it was Falafel Wrap, Beef Burger and Buttermilk Chicken Burger for us, which were all expertly prepared. Delicious! Topping it off with some equally well made coffees and ice cream and we were suitably well fed.Its the lovely people here that shone the most though. The Chef, Bar Staff, Manager, were all really friendly and are such a nice bunch, thank you guys ??We stayed nearby at the equally brilliant Lincoln Farm Park and if you're staying there, drop by and support the local, you won't be disappointed.Kid-friendliness: Very friendly and welcoming to all the family

We opted to all have the same, 3 roast beef dinners, the beef was lovely but all the veg was undercooked, roast potatoes were hard in the middle, carrots were basically raw and the yorkshires were stodgy, and the worst part was the fishy cauliflower cheese !! Not only was the food pretty poor the service was no better! Overall a very poor experience.

Had Xmas lunch today. Excellent food and plenty of it. Well worth a visit.
The Black Horse is a real gem. Lively, warm, friendly and fun. Luke, the manager, was welcoming and a joy. For dinner, we had steaks, which were superb, and the house wine was spectacular. We got chatting to some locals after our meal. Kyle, the South African, was so nice to me and my husband and really made us feel like part of the family. We will be back for sure once we're back in Oxfordshire.

We enjoyed our meal here - the food was good and the staff attentive. For a quietish meal in the restaurant though, there was a telly rigged up showing the rugby and the volume was extremely loud which clouded our experience as we struggled to hear ourselves talk. The bar got very busy towards the end of our meal, to the point where the staff rather gave up paying attention to the diners and we had to fight our way to the busy bar through people (loud music by this point) and ask if we could pay as we'd been waiting ages for someone to come back and take our money.

We decided to book a table at the pub, due to celebrating our birthdays and wedding anniversary, whilst holidaying in our caravan. We opted for the Black Horse burger, and the 10z sirloin steak, the food was piping hot and was absolutely delicious. The girls on the bar and serving the food were so courteous. We were so glad that we booked to eat here.

It was OK. It wasn't bad as such. Staff OK, bit slow service-wise. Not as attentive as one would expect. Local 'yoof' drinkers seem to be well catered for. Food OK. Mostly. Prawn & Chorizo starters - tasty but very minimalist. Chorizo is not that expensive. Mains - Fish & Chips good (MASSIVE chips !). Chicken with Cajun fries/chips = chicken & PLAIN fries/chips. No Cajun spice/seasoning at all. Someone either forgot or more than one person (chef & server) doesn't know the menu. Sausage & mash - very disappointing. I hate to say it but really very bland/poor sausages (2 thin chipolata type/looking and similar to those you might get for a greasy spoon breakfast), mash was just OK but dry, very little gravy (as in VERY LITTLE) and fried onions were, er, 6 pieces as a token gesture. You would have been better not putting those 6 measly pieces on the mash as it looked like you had either run out or were simply skimping. So for food 1+1/2+1/2+1/2 = 2 1/2 out of 4 maximum I'm sorry to say.
