Not enough available parking outside the pub or elsewhere inthe village contrary to what anearlier reviewer said. The pubcarpark is a sandy pitch enoughonly for 3 cars. Apparently thebeer garden at the back is quitespacious which is an ironic twistto the parking problem, so I'm amazed that the pub should dowell with passing trade. Surely itwould have made sense to havebought a field off a local farmerto accommodate more customers.

We went for a first meal here, its an old fashioned pub from the outside and interior design but don't let that put you off, as the food being served and service is absolutely first class. We started with the brie and bread for two which was very very good, perfect. I had the lamp served on crushed potatoes which was very tasty and my wife the cod. Both meals were proper size food and non of this little portion stuff. We had desserts as well, my wife had the Pannal cota and I had the crumble. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back.Parking: Nice field and easy access.

Great little pub in a local village. Stopped in for an afternoon beverage. Will definitely head back next time to try the food.

An absolutely amazing place - second visit for Saturday lunch with family and once again a delightful experience. Ambience is great, the welcome and service wonderful and the food is fantastic. A rare find in this day and age. Highly recommend and we will be back again soon.

Stopped by on the way home for Sunday lunch, best Sunday roast at a pub in a very long time. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were really pleasant. I definitely go again but we don't live anywhere near ☹️

Just got back from a wonderful Sunday lunch today. All of the staff were lovely and the food and drink was fantastic. All 5 of us had a variety of choices from the Sunday lunch menu and every course was of an exceptional standard. This place is a ‘hidden gem’ in the Leicestershire countryside.

Lovely atmosphere and catered for my gluten free needs.

Beautiful pub, fantastic food and lovely staff. Cask ale (London Pride last night) served way too cold, thus killing some of the taste. Otherwise, the Fox and Hounds is superb. Highly recommended.

What with lock down, pandemics and the like it must be three years since we were last here and it was SO good to return to this wonderfully English pub, albeit with some changes to the place. We missed the lovely, gracious Kate who always made her friends from Scotland feel very welcome. But we still had a good reception, even though we were the last booking for Sunday lunch at the late hour of 5pm. Fabulous food, made even better by the invitation to stay for the quiz evening and we had a great time in a very packed warren of rooms. Coming third by only a few points, the five of us just missed out on the £50 prize, but it didn't matter as we had a super meal and a fun evening. Friendly, helpful staff and how we wished we all lived nearer as this is a super venue and the [newish] management are certainly going out of their way to please their customers. Would love to return though a few hundred miles are the main problem.....

Great food. Unfortunately the service was not so good, 1 1/2 hours before food was served. Waiter and waitress cuddling!

Table booked for 7.30pm, food was served at 9.10 pm! Half hour wait for dessert menu as they only had 1 copy. Water and waitress cuddling at the bar. More interested in each other than the customers. Food however was good.

Disappointing service. Went for Sunday lunch. Service was initially very good but deteriorated over time. They were very slow to take our desert order. My desert arrived without custard. Had to chase this up and after a further delay request a second time. When it finally arrived it was cold as was my desert by this time. Said that they would take away and heat up in the microwave! Gave up at this point. Told me that it was all down to communication problems.
