We stopped off on our journey from Brighton to Tynemouth.We read great reviews and decided to visit as it was not far from the A1. We were not disappointed.We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table. Excellent pub! Third time visiting since moving to the area recently. The first time we were put off by the atmosphere but some friends told us it had changed management but think the chef is the same so we gave it another go. Glad we did as the pub is excellent! I have a dairy intolerance and they were so accommodating and were able to make me a delicious dairy free dessert. The staff are warm and friendly and go out of their way for you. What a gem find this place is, good food, great service, and a good atmosphere. Looked for some where to eat on a stop over and found this place. Fantastic value for money as the portions were on the large side and the home made pie was to die for. Really do recommend.
