16 W End, St Monans, AnstrutherWell, just when yiu think fife east neuk is all seagulls and fish n chip, bam.. you find this absolute gem of a restaurant. First off the location. StMonans is a very pictuesqe old fishing village with a nice harbour, you wander along, past the wellies garden, yep, welly boots with plants growing in them, and find Craig Milers. The views as you walk uo and from inside the garden and dining room are a sight of pure joy.
The waiting staff, very welcoming, friendly and attentive, the food, A- Maze-Ing. We were there for lunch and what a superb lunch we had.
We will be returning.

West End Bar
30-32 S Loan, Pittenweem, AnstrutherWe always visit the West End Bar when we’re visiting family in Pittenweem. It’s advisable to book because the food is fabulous. Great service and a wonderful menu with tempting daily specials. The flour-free chocolate dessert is always a winner. The drinks list is great too - lovely cocktails and a decent wine list. We have also visited just for a drink and the bar service was equally friendly. Finally, the place is dog-friendly, which is a huge bonus for us because we have a retired Guide Dog who likes to go everywhere with us. The owner remembers our dog’s name and makes us all feel welcome!

The Shoregate
67 High St, Crail, AnstrutherWent to the Shoregate pub last week to listen to traditional Scottish music. It happens once a month. Musicians jamming, playing for pleasure not a performance as such. Very chilled. The place was packed - it was a lovely hot night in beautiful Crail. People were friendly. I didn't eat but this place has a great reputation for lovely food. I didn't stay in the hotel

Eastern Touch at Anstruther
35 Cunzie St, AnstrutherHad a meal at the Eastern Touch whilst on holiday. There were 6 of us and we hadn’t booked but the staff were great offering to put tables together for us . Service was quick and the food was delicious, hot, generous portions and well presented . 2 in our party had the Chicken Shaslick and said it was the best they’d had ! All in all a lovely meal , I would recommend .

The Rockies Restaurant
Shore Rd, Marsfield, AnstrutherRockies is a hidden gem, tucked away from the main street of Anstruther, 10mins walk from the front. The views from the restaurant across to the harbour are lovely. The food is as good as anything you'll get in any fancy restaurant, service was friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our meal and will recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Fife. 2nd Visit in July 2025, again faultless food that was amazing, love this place 5✨

Fish and Chips on The Waterfront
14 Shore St, AnstrutherBest Fish and Chips in the whole of Scotland, I’ve tried everywhere from Ayrshire to Aberdeen, I’ve tried all three chip shops in anstruther, plus Murray’s so the four all together and these guys beat them all hands down, beautiful white fish in a very light crispy batter, chips are cooked perfectly too, lovely and crispy and soft potato in the middle. Only criticism I have is it’s 85p for one pickled onion! ? they’re 50p at a push. I’ll definitely be back, but may bring my own pickles ?

13 Shore St, Cellardyke, AnstrutherWe're still sat outside on a beautiful October Saturday and just shared a fabulous cheese ham and tomato toasties for lunch with drinks. Beautiful friendly staff and great spot. Totally made our weekend. HIGHLY recommend.

We booked a last minute break, and we're not disappointed...
Parking could be hit or miss, we were very lucky to get parked out front!
Lovely wee place... Duncan welcomed us with a friendly smile and chat, and took us to our room, which was nice!
Private locked stairwell, locked room with en suite bathroom. Huge bed, clearly recently decorated... Everything you'd need, wardrobe, drawers, kettle etc... bathroom was large, walk in shower.
Everything was clean and tidy.
Duncan was happy to give us directions, tips on where to eat etc.
Very easy walk to get back into Anstruther, which had some stunning views!
The bar downstairs was good, friendly.
Breakfast was a SO well cooked and delicious, all the usuals, with a large selection of extras, cereal, fruit, toast etc...
Can't fault.
Would recommend!
Would go back!

Perfect blend of cosy pub and incredible seafood.
I wish I lived closer to this gem. The tagliatelle with haddock and smoked mussels was the best fish dish I’ve ever had. Really fresh ingredients, beautiful flavour and well presented. If I lived just 2 hours away from this place I would drive back just for this dish.
We had the salmon and caviar to start which was also amazing.

9 High St, Pittenweem, AnstrutherDelicious food, I had the brie and cranberry focaccia roll, highly recommend it the brie was melted perfectly and the cranberries had a lovely sweetness. So many options for sweet and savoury, my sister had a cheese and ham crepes and she really enjoyed them. The staff were lovely aswell the aesthetic of this place is nice aswell.

18 Shore St, AnstrutherFirst time visitors and what a terrific experience. The FOH staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely efficient. Lovely choice of dishes on the menu with lots of tempting seafood. All meals were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.

12 Shore St, AnstrutherMy grandmother and I had some time to kill waiting for the bus. Came in here and I loved it! Lovely old pub that probably hasn't changed for decades. I am sad I won't be able to return soon as I'm only visiting here. I would have loved to see this pub on a more busy night, But I will be back! Thanks for the friendly welcome and the crisp pint of Tennent's!

There is a good stock of the usual goods to be found in a shop of this size, including a variety of hot filled rolls. The server was polite, prompt, and very friendly. She even offered to heat up my sausage roll, great customer service. You have now got another return customer.Parking: Council Parking Attendants patrol this area so stay off the double yellow lines.

1 John St, Cellardyke, AnstrutherCalled the locall Chinese who delivered to our caravan. I had low expectations as delivery was not that near us.
I have to say I was more than happy with the Chinese.
The food is piping hot and delivers on time although a large order. I haven't had such a tasty takeaway and everything we had was top notch.
Can't wait to come back and get another takeaway from Fortune House.

Anstruther Fish Bar
42 - 44 Shore St, AnstrutherWe chose the takeaway option and queued for 30 minutes but the fish was delicious and worth the wait. The restaurant was very busy and we could see that all the food was served on paper plates with disposable cups for drinks. The prices were more for eating in which you’d expect but I’d have been disappointed if we’d done so and received takeaway plates etc.

The Wee Chippy
4 Shore St, AnstrutherExcellent chippy, with a fabulous selection of items, including old favourites and some other lesser available option such as frickles, smoked fish (battered, breaded or baked) and truffle parmesan chips. There is also a gluten free range. When sitting on, supper options include a side (beans or mushy peas) , bread (white or brown) and a got drink (tea, coffee...). Toilets are clean and well maintained.
If taking away, there is a separate entrance in the lane up the right hand side of the main entrance: don't go in the front entrance as this is for done in only. There is usually a queue, but the staff are efficient enough to keep it moving as quickly as possible.
Merchandise is also available for those looking to take a memento home.
