Passed in here on way to drumlanrig after reading reviews so thought would give it a try.Barmaid very chatty and pleasant,good choice of food on menu at great price for two courses,had apple pie for dessert best I've had anywhere,would definitely recommend for lunch.

corner cafe did a buffet for me on Saturday it was amazing great quality plenty of it n great price will definitely be back. ps strawberry tarts were a hit lol thanks again xxx

Woodlands Restaurant, Dumfries House

We had a superb meal, served up by the Hospitality team in training. I had chicken fricassee, hubby had the fish pie. Both of these main courses were absolutely delicious. For dessert I had cherry & frangipane tart and hubs had apple & blackberry crumble. Again, we were extremely impressed with the quality of these dishes. Followed by coffee & a truffle. The service was great, but not so attentive that it was interuptive. We were fortunate enough to have a beautiful sunny day, so had a walk around nearby, which is stunning Woodlands. Definetely recommend, even if they were just 'in training'. Best grounding ever for someone learning the catering/hospitality trade. Well done & and thank you to ALL the team ?
