An absolutely lovely team! We wanted to start hiking the Speyside Way about three weeks ago, but our luggage was lost at the airport. Without our equipment, we were stranded in Buckie - the Mahmoods and the whole team at the Old Coach House Hotel made it possible for us to stay with them despite being fully booked, so we would have a place to stay while waiting for our baggage. Hmmmm, was a bit worried after reading a couple of very recent reviews. They were pretty much damning so it was with some trepidation and the decision to check out if it was as described. I have to say, I can really see where the previous reviews came from. Yes it’s old, the room was small and restaurant was closed. In saying this, the room was clean, the water hot and the area quiet. Great location in the centre of town. With parking. The only time we saw staff was at check-in and a room cleaner in the morning. Old and tired. However new carpets, floor covering in the bathroom and a TV. Made things marginally better. No bar or restaurant was open when we stayed. However very cheap accommodation.
