We accidentally came across the Anchor Hotel whilst down for a weeks holiday nearby. We went back for dinner and sat outside with a stunning view across the water in the evening. The food was great and both staff members who served us were very polite and welcoming.We sat outside as our dog can't sit at peace for more than 2 minutes, however the layout was excellent for us. Fabulous place. It was a pleasure to visit the Anchor Hotel at Kippford twice in recent weeks. The welcome was warm and friendly and the traditional decor was so refreshingly honest creating a wonderful atmosphere. The food was excellent on both occasions, tasty, quality ingredients with good sized portions well presented without waiting ages. We visited this place to have some food and drink I must say all the meals and drinks we had were fantastic and I can recommend the beef and mushroom pasta as well as the venison and haggis
