Staff were attentive and friendly, absolutely no problem taking the dog as they have tables set aside for those of us with a canine companion and no issue getting water for the dog (and even a treat). Starters were lovely, fish and chips spot on, my medium rare steak was cooked perfectly with a beautiful pink peppercorn sauce. Prices were reasonable and food is the correct level for the hotel, far above pub food, but also doesn't try to be pretentious. Portion sizes were generous, and the proper chips done just right. Didn't have dessert as was stuffed but going by the mains, would expect them to be just as top notch.Restaurant chairs are comfortable and the room size is small enough to be atmospheric but not so small as to feel crowded.Also had a quick look at the bar/lounge area which looked very welcoming and will definitely be back to try out this area.I'd say a bit of a hidden gem for the area and well worth a visit. Well done to the owner and staff, an absolutely pleasant lunch was had.”
