It's a great cafe. I am writing this review because I want them to read it. Everything is great, the vibe of the place. I have one note: the type of coffee is too strong. I wish they tried to use another one, like a Colombian or Brazilian one; they taste better and are good for everyone's tastes. I used to own a coffee export company, and I understand each type. The one that suits everyone's taste is these two. Sometimes the Ethiopian is a little sour and other types are sweet, but these two are in the middle.I wish this was a helpful note.I just wrote this note because I really do love the place, but because of the type of coffee beans you guys use in it, I rarely come.I know many people love it. It's always a crowded place; this is just a suggestion..

Had breakfast with Fiancé here today, loved the taste and flavour of the coffee, had to order two, great thing they have option of alternative milk for people like me? could improve with the seating area as this place can get too crowded too easily lucky we were here early and got a seat we preferred and didn’t have to share. Could also add the option of heating up the Bagels as I prefer my breakfast warm. Highlight of the day was the Basque cheesecake. If Available is a must have, it melts the moment you take a bite in your mouth and is so delicious.

There are exceptional coffee shops in Dundee but EH9 is where you go to get coffee. Before getting into it, the small cafe has a limited but very tasty selection of snacks, and an interesting selection of unconventional non-coffee drinks. The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly, with exceptionally well trained and friendly staff. But what makes EH9 special is, quite simply, the coffee; and it special. There's no other way to put it.I've had great coffee around the world (with highlights in Singapore, Sendai Japan, Helsinki Finland and San Fransico USA). The espresso drinks served by the crew in EH9, with a relatively humble set up (no custom undercounter set ups or other such gimmicks here, just an enormous amount of attention paid to bean, grind, and subsequent extraction) is equal to if not better than the best.The staff have worked hard with local roasters to develop a consistent but still unique coffee that produces a complex but not overpowering shot. It works well in milk drinks and the shop's quasi-signature oatmilk drinks are standouts. There's also an excellent selection of roasts available to purchase by the bag and, I believe they, on ocassion, experiment with pulling shots from some of the rarer roasts but you'll need to talk to the staff. They also have Moccamaster batch brews if you fancy something a bit longer.Simply put, for an unassuming place, some of the nicest espresso I have had in my life has been from EH9.

Love this place. The coffee is always great, you just know the folks there are passionate about what they make and care about it!! They’re also very friendly, leave me smiling every time and always helpful. This is where I always go with my partner if I want a nice coffee and bagel or pastry (or both!!) in Dundee, for a fair price and relaxing time.We got their harissa chicken and NYC bagels today, as well as a cup of batch brew and long black. Delicious ☺️?N.B: their brand visual identity is so aesthetically pleasing, as an artist, I love it!!
