Some shut shops, but most things are open. Not as active as it used to be, but the shear amount of people there day to day tells you how popular it still is. I got what I needed and had a decent time looking around. Get it before it changes. They are going to remove an entire third of it though.So do enjoy it and take it in before it's gone.
A very hig place for a small suburb town, and indeed the largest multiple occupancy covered retail space in Scotland! It was built as the shopping area for the East Kilbride Newtown in the 60s. Then bits were added. The newest section however has plans for closure & re-use as shopping habits has seen greater use of out-of-town sites.No trouble with criminality in or indeed around the site.

There's nothing here any more! Majority of the restaurants closed down. The ice rink and cinema are still there which is great but this part of the centre cost a fortune to rebuild and its practically empty. Such a shame! Was actually better when it was the original food court.
