Food was amazing! Cocktails and drinks really good staff

Food tasted great but the portion sizes were small for what your paying for. Left the place tonight still feeling hungry. Some food that came out was incorrect and took 10 minutes to be replaced meaning that person had to eat by themselves as everyone else was finished.

Fantastic steak night! Dropped in for tea one Friday night and can honestly say that the steak was one of the best we’ve had in a very long time! It was cooked to perfection - we normally like it rare and more often than not, in other establishments, it’s only ever medium ‘ish’ but this was cooked perfectly and a great cut of meat. Will definitely be back soon!

Had a nice meal here with my wife and daughter. The food was good vaule for money and good quality. 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £55 was not to be knocked. Steak pie was lovely at only £11 a main can't complain. Don't understand the negative reviews

Shockingly bad Christmas menu at £45 per head with band. Starter chosen was prawn cocktail, nothing special, then turkey. Well the turkey slices may have been OK but no sign of any fresh vegetables. Tinned mixed veg, one tough, tiny apology for a roast potato obviously from frozen, some mash, and three small Brussels which were strangely tough. All on a little plate like school dinners. When a number of us asked for cranberry sauce, a tiny dish of reddish syrup appeared to be shared between six. Christmas pudding no better. Served with a splash of whitish sauce. Really shameful to serve this up on a special occasion. Stay away.

Was a lovely meal. After reading the reviews i was dubious. Hubby had steak pie and thought it was lovely and i had hunters chicken which was beautiful. Also a portion of onion rings which was lovely..

Food was very good, all came in good time. Very big portion sizes.Read previous reviews and decided to book tables each night during out stay at Westlands.Lovely setting within the building, lots of capacity but seem low on staff numbers.

As per other reviews here - we had to book ... though the place was empty when I booked, when we arrived, 4 tables occupied - I guess this is a staff shortage issue. We ordered - great stuff, 2 our of three were correct, one curry was short of rice (ordered half and half) and the chuckney was missing - That said there was plenty of food on the plate so not a major issue, and not worth bothering about, The food was VERY good so no harm done. The drinks were good value also, typical pub prices. The restaurant is dog friendly, which is great, unless the dog at the next table to you smells - (though they left after a few mins, so no need to move). All in all a good experience - 5 stars had the order been 100% - so close!!

Steaks and chips were all anaemic, not that great especially for the price, was slow and missing a starter too.

Walk in’s were being turned away. Restaurant open until 8.30 - we arrived just before 6 to be told they were fully booked but only 1 table were eating and there were many empty tables. Very strange set up.

Only 4 staff on and only 9 tables including ours. Every single table had an issue whether it be food being the wrong order, food items missing or just food not being up to scratch in general. One table next to us waited over an hour just for a starter. Staff seemed very, very inexperienced and didn’t know how to deal with issues other than apologising which must be hard for them but they should be getting far better training. The food itself wasn’t great either, the menu given is not the menu on the website so only a minority of food available. The starter on the paper menu wasn’t what was on the website menu despite being of the same name. For the main, one lot of chips were burnt and overcooked, the other was still raw. The steak was ordered medium rare but served more on the well done side. The sauce was also missing and both meals brought at different times. It just seems like the basics are being missed which starts the whole thing off on the wrong foot.

Starter was nice however burger was burnt and hard, also cottage pie was swimming in water also veg was hard and cold, not nice at all. There was only 2 other people on the restraunt when we ordered so it wasn't due to rush.Waitering staff were lovely and apologetic just shame about the low standard food.
