Kirkpatrick-Fleming, LockerbieWhat a lovely pub. We searched for somewhere to eat that was also dog friendly which was very difficult in the area.
We weren't disappointed... We were all made to feel welcome, even out pooch. She was given a bowl of water and a handful of treats too.
The food was lovely and the staff even lovelier.
Off your in the area I would recommend The Station.

The Kings Arms Inn
Bowness-on-Solway, WigtonThis is really the start of the Hadrians Wall National Trail. A lot of people stay here the night before the start of the walk. It’s a great start point too. The owners and staff couldn’t be more helpful, they are super nice and made our stay a splendid one.
Bar Food: We had the bar menu which was traditional fare and just fine and really well priced.
Breakfast: If you stay overnight you get a cook your own breakfast that is left in your shared kitchen. This is a huge, tasty affair:
Quality yogurts, fresh fruit (bananas, blueberries, & strawberries), two types of bread with preserves along with sausages, bacon, eggs and black pudding.
Kitchen: Everything you need nearly including an air frier. Could do with some cutting boards and a sharp knife though.
Accommodation: We had the top floor room, which was totally fine, it was very comfortable and we slept the sleep of the dead.
Other things: There is a shared toilet, 2nd bathroom, and lounge.
Cost 2026: Two o/n stays with breakfast, two meals and five pints of beer was £198.
Negatives: We didn’t have a car, but parking does seem tight in the main street.
All in all a super nice place to stay before the start of your walk.

Peartree tea room
Barwise Brow, Bowness-on-Solway, WigtonLovely stop this morning at the cafe. There was a problem with the bank card reader and so cash was only available for a time. The owner went the extra mile to accommodate us and two passing cyclists. The atmosphere was wonderful. Thank you

18 Annan Rd, Eastriggs, AnnanWas staying local at westlands country park , imperial was about 10 mins away in eastriggs friendly girl and locals, food piping hot and big portions well worth it in the area .

The Stand Bar and Restaurant
Westlands The Broats Moss, AnnanWe have been in several times and alway enjoyed. Service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. It’s no more expensive or cheaper than any other cafe/restaurant in the area. Comfortable seating, relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
