In our trip to Edinburgh we went a few times to the Barony and ordered food/drinks for many pounds. We enjoyed it there. After we eated somewhere else we just wanted to do one more drink in the Barony. But what happened was one of the most weird things that has overcome us. The bartender refused to serve because he said we had too much. I told him in clear language that it was a misunderstanding.I told him that he was shaking and looking insecure and that its not necessaire to do this. The waiteres who he overruled to do this looked very unhappy with his behaviour. He stand with his decision as if his ego could not reconsider it. We definitly were not drunk. We leaved the place to never come back. It was a shame to not treat us with the respect we showed this places as customers. To the man who did this: think about your behaviour and please don’t do stupid things like this again. It doesn’t suit you.

The Double Beef Burger is great, they have a pretty decent beer selection, and the staff is very friendly. The live music can sometimes start too loud and abruptly which makes me "call it a night" or move to a different location.

Welcoming faces, amazing food, and very reasonable prices make this my new EDI haunt -close to much and far from nothing.I tip my hat to you, Barony.

Very nice bar staff and manager. Thanks for allowing me to eat allergen friendly food outside.

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️If a well used moccasin slipper gave birth to stale rice cracker, it'd probably taste better than The Barony Bars battered fish. If you like young service staff who don't give a fook what they serve as food, then by all means go and get sick at this place.

Edinburgh resident. First class service from manager and staff. Drinks good. But food is first class and very good value for money. Would recommend a visit

Wonderful scottish pub, excellent food, beers and staff! We asked for few pints of Neckoil with some starters (hummus, chicken, calamari and pork, all 4 starters for 24£).

£12.15 for a gin and tonic... its a bit expensive despite its location

Comfy and warm, welcoming atmosphere and a really nice mix of beers on tap.Food was a bit more of a mixed bag - Burger was really nice (succulent with a lovely sauce), but Fish&Chips was a bit disappointing (too much batter for too little fish). Definitely worth a session!

Now, I understand why you have to pay for food in advance, I think added picture can say for everything...It also would be nice if staff could ask how was it and not just take a plate with no word (the place was very quite)
