Reunited date with a friend. Had the 4 course tasting menu. Started with pear cocktails, very delicious. Then had some little nibbles, one was trout roe and the other was a hash brown with a mouse on top. We also had fresh bread. Both lovely. For starters had a cured trout, then asparagus dish. Our main was the duck. It was amazing and very generous! Dessert was in season fresh strawberries with chocolate. Great value! Highly recommend. We came for the set menu lunch (£55pp) on a Sunday, which included 4 courses and 2 snacks. The food was top quality, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. We thought the price reflected value for money considering the quality of the meal. Really outstanding modern Scottish cuisine.

I had a lovely solo meal at Fhior after the Edinburgh half. The team is fantastic and deserves a special shout out. Although the food is exquisite, the atmosphere is very relaxed and not too serious. Loved the beetroot and asparagus dishes, as well as the duck. Dessert was zesty and refreshing. All in all, a great experience - exactly what restaurants in this league should offer.
