The 1872 Cup (rugby) drew us to Edinburgh for lunch and the game. We usually go for a tried and trusted Italian at the West End but due to the fact that it wasn't going to be open in time, booked a table at Fava instead and were extremely glad we did. Not only were we permitted to change to an earlier time but the service we received and the quality of food were both excellent. We were staying at a nearby hotel and happened upon this restaurant at lunchtime. We shared several small plates and everything was delicious and presented in a very appealing way. They also have a nice selection of Greek wines. The decor is cheerful and you can imagine you're in Greece for the afternoon.

Have visited twice since it opened and overall a decent place to come. Feels very authentic and “Greek” inside with the decor. A little bit colder if sat near the door but usually other available tables. The toilets are functional but could be better maintained. The menu is a mix of meze style/small plates, street food and mains - really liked the choice and variety.
