Nice wee place with yummy food. Was a little disappointed when the lady serving assumed my party were all female when infact 1 out of the two of us were male, just had long hair. She did apologise and he took it well. Care should maybe be taken in future. Still, would go back for the food .

One of the top 10 coffee shops in the country - Sunday Times, August 2023 - and they’re not wrong! Happened to be on holiday for a week nearby, and we visited twice to sample both coffee and cakes. Whilst the cakes are “merely” good, the coffee is exquisite!! Plus, there are coffee-lover gifts for all occasions! Thoroughly recommend a visit if you are nearby!

What a treasure of a place, came across this place by accident. Will be returning in the not to distant future. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely cafe with very friendly staff. Food was fantastic and the coffee was great. Service was a tad slow but it was busy so was understandable. Try one of the coffee taster sets or the BBQ Chicken Flatbread!

Over all I’ve always enjoyed my visits here, with really nice coffee (can’t wait for the roastery) and friendly staff even when it gets super busy.I’ve just had a slightly bad eggy experience that last couple of times I’ve been in. The fried eggs are perfectly cooked from the bottom, but from on the top there is raw egg white, which texture and visually doesn’t bother me too much. Where it does raise an issue is a possible health and safety concern, as I have developed a jippy tummy.I had mentioned it to a member of staff as a concern, but was told to ask for both sides cooked in next time I come in, and that it’s just how they I made. Which I appreciate the honesty and don’t blame the member of staff for anything, raw egg white just concerns me when it could easily be avoided. It won’t put me off from coming back though! It’s a great pair of cafes this was just a concern I had from today and a previous occasion.Vegetarian options: I wish there were slightly more veggie alternatives or options on the menu, when I see how nice the other options are.

Delicious washed/natural blend cappuccino. And the peanut butter slice was just as good! Friendly and cosy atmosphere and great views of the countryside

Discovered this delight in deepest Aberdeenshire when doing a house renovation in the area. Returned with my elderly and frail father, son and granddaughter for a family Sunday lunch. Location is just off the main road, far enough to be safe and quiet for kids to be outside. Menu is limited in size, but still interesting, a beef bolignion, served as shepherd's pie took Dads fancy, wife a quiche, beef burger and Kim chicken for me, chicken burger for DiL, a Moroccan lamb meatball for son and veg soup for the wee one. Everything was cooked great, seasoned well, a good portion size, not the extremes sometimes faced with. V small potato toasties were a standout, sweet potato chips a fail, soggy and why bother? Coffees all round were brilliant, the flat white has a real kick, cakes to go a treat. Service exemplary, immaculately clean, easy access for Dad on a zimmer. Brilliant and we will return

A lovely coffee and pretty hot choc with plentiful portion of choc brownie hit the spot.

Surprisingly not out of the door as they usually were, think there was some kind of Coronation shenanigans going on. Had a very nicely made latte and a superb pot of Earl Grey. Homemade pancakes with maple syrup helped to cheer up the foggy day, a roll with hog roast sausages went down well, lovely beetroot salad on the side too. Service excellent from everyone encountered.

Nice food small portions. The food is all very good, but the portions are very stingy for the price. Hot chocolate and a meal for two adults and a child came to £51.You can see from the picture that the side of sweet potatoes is tiny and costs £4.

Busy with nice ambience. Liked the shabby chic look. But all that I ordered came in small portions - three little pancakes, perhaps half a sliced pear and a little chocolate sauce, with a squirt of cream. And the coffee came in a very small glass... really could have done twice the amount (with the mix altered accordingly). All very lovely but just not enough - especially for the price. I'm all for supporting local businesses but I can't justify spending £11 for some pancakes and a very small coffee.
