The Sheiling....... Just as good as ever. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It's just one of those places where you can go and just chill out in your own space, even when other customers are enjoying their time together, it just seems to add to the freedom. As always the staff and owner were exceptionally pleasant and friendly. As well as being efficient of course!

Stopped in here for a drink a couple of days ago, I was surprised that there were no draught beers, however there was more than enough choice of bottles.Decided to come in for lunch today, had fried brie wedges and the other half had the best venison burger ever. My cheese came with a beautifully presented salad on the side. The lady that served us seems absolutely lovely, very friendly, helpful and chatty.Going to have to pop in again before we leave to try a coffee.Prices are also very reasonable, despite what other reviews may say.

To Donald and all your staff,I appreciate it is a little late for this review but we want to thank you all for the lovely times we have had in your restaurant over the years. I cannot count how many times we have been in but we always keep on coming back, usually for the Cullen Skink which is the best we have ever had, anywhere. We usually use the lounge area which is really comfortable and enjoy sharing it with the fish and recently the beautiful painting of An Teallach. The Shieling has been the place we always bring family and friends and you have never disappointed.I think the most appropriate thing I can say to show our appreciation is in the words of Douglas Adams's dolphins:"So long, and thanks for all the fish"Keith and Jane

My family and I greatly enjoyed our lunch at The Shieling during our visit to Gairloch last week. The restaurant welcomed us with super friendly service and delicious food and drinks (loved the marshmallows on our hot cocoa)! So glad we happened upon it during our pass through town!

We went just for a snack. A party of four. We were told that it would be a 25 minute wait to be served but said we were prepared to wait. The restaurant was at this point quite empty. After quite a long wait we ordered drinks but at this point not allowed to order food. another long wait and we at last ordered our food. The food was, when it arrived was of a high quality but 45 minutes to get a bacon roll and a side of chips in an almost empty restaurant seems unacceptable. We will not be going back.

We saw the reviews and were not sure that it is worth visiting. But at the end - it’s the best place for food we tried in Garloch. Kids enjoyed it. The service was really kind. The food was great. I highly recommend it.

Cappuccino is a must have! Friendly staff. Lovely view of the bay and gorgeous to watch the rain and storm come through. Good Scottish good and produce to buy.

This is a lovely underrated restaurant with excellent friendly service. No pretensions, just hearty homemade meals with super fresh local produce. Just one warning, the portions are big. You won’t leave hungry. But you might leave with a doggy bag.

Gone here for years. Food always good ( especially the Cullen Skink, which is the best there is ).Staff always ,without fail, friendly and work extremely hard. Seating is very comfortable in leather settees or at tables, with sea views all round.Don't understand the rare poor reviews. Some folks are never happy.
