Overall it’s not bad but it’s certainly not greatVisited here last month and was pretty underwhelming first off the pricing it’s definitely over priced I had a pizza it came out in reasonable time they didn’t even bother cutting it into slices having to use your cutlery or hands for a pizza that cost around £11-£15 you’d think they would cut it themselves but they didn’t I’ve not gone back so maybe they have sorted that the decor also was a problem when I went in very poor lighting just seemed to lack any sort of atmosphere I’ve had the opportunity to drive past a few times it looks slightly better chips costing £4 or so honestly I’d recommend going elsewhere and holding off until they sort the few issues they do have.I did however have to wait around 5 minutes for the bill my guess was under staffed but really it does come back around to the price the cost can come down but that’s if they want to I’ve gathered a few opinions from locals having said the same the pricing being the problem especially for a town like girvan but who knows good luck to the ownersVegetarian options: You do have a vegan and meat free section but to be honest I don’t think they would mind if you asked for a certain dish to be made veggieParking: Ok so the parking is somewhat ok there’s no actual parking on the doorstep however there’s a car park on the way into girvan not far away and also has the high-street which you could park in and for EV chargers your closest is Girvan beach front

Food was lovely, can't fault it, I'd say more more staff require to deal with the tables.

Very poor experience with the food here. Cold food and portion control is taken to the extreme. Pasta was like rubber consistency 100% not fresh and 100% out of a packet.Your prices don't reflect what's being dished up.This isn't anything new, eaten better food from the take aways on the high streetDidn't appreciate having to listen to drunks propped up at the bar with bad language constantly while I'm trying to make the most out of a very bad experience.

Have had many happy meals in the past, but on a cold wintery January Sunday afternoon, I went along for a Sunday roast lunch. There was only one young lady on duty front of house ( but 3 chefs in the kitchen). The young lady was having to do the bar, seating and greeting, take food orders, clean the tables , serve the meals, answer the telephones for bookings, serve on the bar, take orders for takeaways, set the tables, answer queries from the owner (who was relaxing at home) and also prepare and serve sweets and coffee. Even as capable and smiling as the young lady was ,it was clearly too much for one person. Eventually, I got served with a lovely roast dinner,( 5 vegetables, 2 different potatoes and 3 different meats, a desert and a drink for only £18) but I was annoyed when I saw the head chef leave the building with a hot meal to be served to the òwner of the restaurant at her home some 20 miles away while other people were waiting to be served and as I was concerned for the distress of the young lady I placed a complaint online via Facebook. The complaint was immediately taken down off Facebook and never replied to . The owners are abusing their young staff and also refuse to allow bad reviews on Facebook. The one-star review for service does not reflect the hard work of the one young lady attempting to do everything. It is more for the owner not helping out and demanding their lunch being delivered to their house.

Popped in for a drink and stayed for dinner when we saw the food. Smelt good and tasted great. Very generous sized pizzas. The staff were very helpful and were able to make amendments to accommodate for a coeliac in our party. We were all very impressed with them.Dietary restrictions: We had a coeliac in our group and the staff were able to make necessary adjustments such as cooking the gluten free pizza in a separate tray and ensuring that anything that came out had not touched any gluten. Very impressed by their attention to this detail and allowed us to enjoy our meal without any concerns.

The Boatyard is under new ownership now.The pub has been redecorated and it looks very cosy downstairs with new fireplace and armchairs around it.The waitress was outstanding, and the food was exactly what I was looking for. I had American pie, chips with garlic sauce and oregano. My daughter had a Hamburger with salad. We were so pleased with the service. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and beverage we received.Pub also has a conservatory and a beer garden by the Water of Girvan which is open on a nice day.If you are passing by this beautiful town in Scotland, make sure that you have a drink and food here. I can highly recommend The Boatyard.

Visited in May on a nice day so thought we would enjoy the beer garden ...We didn't... it's not very well cared for, strewn with litter and cigarette ends.. and full of weeds growing through the cheap pavingUnderstand hospitality is a difficult business with tight margins.. but keeping it clean wouldn't cost much
