The Monty is hands down the best Pub in EK. The Monty is everything a Pub should be. A gem of a Village focal point, the Monty has long been a village fixture, first opening in 1655 as a coaching inn. The stone landing where Coach passengers embarked and disembarked is still there, in their lovely beer garden.Waking inside takes you back in time.The dark wood, stone floors and fireplace are accented by the whitewashed walls. The Monty is a great pub with a wonderful atmosphere. The main bar is lovely with stone floors and a great selection of beers and a varied and excellent whisky choice.Upstairs is more modern but the atmosphere is just as good.Located in the heart of the old village this pub is popular at all times of the day.A joy to visit.

My first visit and my wife and I were impressed. It's like a proper village pub. Cold beer, friendly staff, a great fire and a brilliant atmosphere. Based on our experience, it's certainly a pub for the over 50's and that's not a bad thing.
