A really beautifully designed building with a very friendly welcome. Although it is right "next to" the main road (thanks to good insulation) a good night's sleep is possible :-)

Had the privilege of photographing a wedding in Glencoe where the bridal couple chose to stay at the Glencoe Inn for a few nights. They absolutely loved it and it's been the perfect place for amazing Getting Ready photos.

I’ve been sold a lemon and the photographer of the hotel should get the loot from my pocket. Someone said it best “lipstick on a coo (cow)”.Primarily price is mismatched with the extremely promising descriptions of “deluxe” and “light rooms”.The one redeeming feature is the location. The toilet seat in the men’s toilet next to reception reception is broken off it’s hinges and smells horrendous, with a sticky floor.I haven’t yet stayed the night and I want to leave - the only reason I’m not is a lack of other options. Spend premium amounts for a “Mountain View” - which is a view mostly of the busy road in front and constant traffic noise that you’ll hear all night - the windows are single glazed and let all the sound in.This is a B’nB or a roadside lodge - not a hotel, especially not a 5-star - I feel like I’m staying with my relatives that live on the main road. There are some attempts at making it nice, but nothing - and I mean nothing justifies the price we paid - perhaps the cost of heating the old building with no double-glazing, and the large empty common areas.Things just haven’t been updated in many, many years. Seek other options if you have them.Rooms: Not up to par with most 2/3 star hotels for price parity. Basic. Warm - but noisy and you’ll have brightly flashing smoke alarm lighting the room every 30 seconds for some unknown reason.Noteworthy details: This one night cost more than my previous two in the Highlands and massively underdelivered for the cost.

Wonderful stop during our Scotland trip. Super friendly staff, lovely sitting room area to wind down with games and a fireplace.Rooms were nicely done, though maybe a bit small for some (esp the bed was snug). Great bathroom, with a nice shower. The breakfast was amazing! And the view, this close to the glencoe lake was exceptional.

Don’t understand why this hotel has a 3,9 rating. Me and my partner stayed here in November 23, everything from the rooms to the service was top notch. Something I would recommend hotel management to do is to emphasise the sauna and jacuzzi that customers can book to use privately, it was amazing! Highly

This was a disappointing, and odd experience. We booked 3 nights at the Island View House, part of Glencoe Inn, in October, for a birthday event. We chose Island View House in part because we wanted to arrange a family dinner one night at the delicious-sounding Steak & Lobster Bistro. After booking the Island View House, I called and tried to book the restaurant. I was told that we could not reserve a table: the restaurant was only available to hotel guests, and as self-catering guests we did not fall into this category. (This conflicts with the info on your web page for the Island View House: “After a day of exploring, cosy up by the log burner or visit the multiple restaurants at the property from Steak & Lobster Bistro…”)My sister, whose family was also staying with us, also tried to book a table. After being told that she could not make a reservation in advance “in case hotel guests may want to book a table and we may therefore be full”, she was warned that “it’s very expensive.” An odd thing for any hotel to tell guests about its own restaurant. On arrival, we acknowledged that we were early for check-in, which the website states is from 3pm. The response was that check-in for the Island View House is 4pm, not 3pm, but they’d try to have the room ready shortly after 3pm.That night, we had the birthday meal at another hotel. The following night, we went into the Glencoe Inn at around 5.45pm, hoping to enjoy a drink in the bar. But we were told we’d have to come back in 30 minutes: the staff were taking a break, so the bar was closed. Feeling unwelcome, we gave up.The Island View House is rated 5 stars, just like the hotel (we verified this on the AA’s website, because we found it hard to believe, given the service). The property is not luxurious – it’s in need of some repairs, and 4 bedrooms share a single bathroom; but it’s otherwise a nice cottage. We would have been fine with it all if we’d been made to feel welcome, but the overall experience has left us cold.

Recently stayed for a long weekend in the cottage. Beautifully decorated house but some of utensils a bit tired. Service was unbelievable. Were told we weren't allowed to book a table in the bistro (as we weren't real hotel guests), were told the menu was too expensive, weren't allowed to check in at time noted on website, ...Not 5 star service, I'm afraid!

I can only write on behalf of the restaurant and pub as did not stay in the hotel.Really really poor service. Came with my friends and they were super rude and dismissive in both the restaurant and pub. Tried to recommend us to another one to go and get drinks at.Drinks are super overpriced too. £6 for a pint and £10 for a double, even though it’s in the middle of nowhere. The staff in the restaurant wouldn’t let me and my friends all sit together and forced us to move our tables apart in a really angry tone.I don’t recommend.

Great service and hospitality by Nick and the rest of the staff at the GLENCOE INN! Lochaber taxi did a great job getting us to and from Glencoe to Fort William, which is about a 25-minute ride away.

Glencoe doesn't appear to have its own local pub. Instead it has this place attached to the hotel. A very average selection of foods and beverages which were over priced. A business opportunity awaits

Within the beautiful area of Glencoe, the Glencoe Inn is one of the few choices for both dinning and lodging. Don't let the picture fool you, the Inn is a labyrinth of hallways and rooms. They have several lounge and outdoor seating areas, but they are all on the opposite side of the bar and restaurants, so not functional to navigate to both. The bar is well done with good seating, high windows and views. The Gathering restaurant was unfortunately quite a mess. Since it is one of the few options it's busy. However, I must say the tables and overall restaurants was dirty and not well run. The free breakfast was very good. For the price of the room, it too was greatly underwhelming. Very small with a side of the bed against the wall. No AC, only able to open a window, but due to privacy we had to keep the curtain down, so on a hotter day and night, the room was quite toasty. There is a heater for colder days. It's not a room you will be spending time in.

Look, this is a perfectly fine hotel. BUT IT IS DEFINITELY NOT A "five star" HOTEL! Please! It sits right on the road and is literally next to a gas station. Rooms are small. Bathrooms even smaller. Exterior in need of painting. Staff were really, really friendly. Wonderful. The food at the restaurant was great, except about 1/4 of the items on the menu they were out of LOL. The location is stunning in terms of being right in the valley, by the lake, near hiking, etc. Bed was clean and cozy. Took a sauna in the backyard and loved it. Again, this is a very fine hotel. But if you think you are going to be in a 5-star lap of luxury, you will be in for a disappointment.
