We chose the gretna chase hotel as part of our package for our wedding booked through the gretna wedding bureau, we had already stayed in the hotel before booking our wedding so it really was our number one choice and luckily our date was available. We stayed in the Paulo and francesca bridal suite for our wedding, the room was stunning. The staff are very helpful and attentive, set our tables up perfectly and was an absolute perfect day and night.Mostly all of our guests stayed in the hotel the night of the wedding too and everyone was happy with there room. Thanks again. ?We will be back to stay again, Gretna will always be a special place for us.Mr & Mrs Chalmers.

Dirty, outdated room that really had a strong damp smell like an old caravan. Filthy bathroom full of mold. Smashed sink, shower not working. Half a jacuzzi bath with most of the fixtures gone or broken. Dirty room, threadbare carpet. Wallpaper hanging of walls. Ceiling sagging with damp patches. Filthy skylight right by the bed. Dirty carpet and divan. Stains. Old and not fit to stay in. Rude owner who refused to refund despite this being advertised as a premium toom! Avoid this place, there are plenty of much cheaper better quality rooms locally. Breakfast was half cooked and cold.

We chose this venue as part of our wedding package with the Gretna Wedding Bureau, we had about 60 guests and a few of them included ourselves stayed here for 2 nights for the weekend, the staff were super helpful and friendly, the hotel grounds are really well kept and we felt very comfortable here, Gretna is a somewhat traditional village and this shows in the hotels decor, the food was outstanding and they effortlessly managed to feed all 60 of us without any drama, congratulations to all of the staff here, we were very impressed. We also had doubts about the size of the hall as we had only seen pictures and a few video snippets online before our wedding, but it is much bigger than we expected with plenty of room for the dj, dancefloor and plenty of tables for people to sit at.Overall i would not hesitate to recommend this place,

We had a lovely stay. The room was spotless, the king size bed was very comfortable. The evening meal we had was an authentic Indian curry. Breakfast was a real treat, fresh fruit and yogurt to start, (rarely are you offered fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries for breakfast). The grounds were beautiful and quiet a lovely place to sit and relax. I would like to thank the very helpful and polite staff and I would certainly recommend the hotel. Excellent value for money.

Lovely gardens, lots of photo oppertunities in their gardens, large function rooms and beautiful bedrooms. A lovely place to go for venues and celebrations and the staff were very welcoming.Nearby activities: Nice shopping outlet nearby for shopping with designer shops reasonabl priced.

Avoid… owner was extremely rude on a friends wedding day. Ruined a special occasion. Food was awful, under cooked/raw breakfast. Rooms are out dated and dirty Will never recommend or stay in this hotel again

Amazing time for my wedding so glad we picked this hotel ! Staff were absolutely fantastic , food was perfect and rooms spotless - I can’t remember the name of the lady on reception but she was very helpful with all my wedding bits that needed doing and letting me know what will be happening on the day - thank you ! The only issue I had had which is not the hotel fault was the do was so loud for the size of the room but that didn’t stop us having a dance

Lovely hotel, clean large spacious rooms, great food and reasonably priced drink friendly staff . Ideal also for a small wedding or reception. Five minutes from the large Gretna factory outlet which has plenty of brand name shops. With plenty of outdoor seating if you need have a seat and a blether. You are also twenty minutes from Carlisle which has a large Mall and an indoor market and plenty of high street shops .

Jayne and l had our wedding meal and drinks here, August 7th-9th. An excellent hotel, 12 of us stayed for bed and breakfast for our wedding in Gretna at Anvil Hall. The wedding suite was gorgeous, all the trimmings including a four poster bed. Staff were very helpful, garden area superb, everything we needed for a wonderful day. The wedding meal was superb, great layout and private. I highly recommend!

Staff very friendly throughout our stay. Room was very spacious and clean, bathroom lovely (Room 5). Reason for 4 stars was the cooked breakfast, scrambled eggs more like omelette and also very salty, and fried egg rubbery and tasted like it had been lying for hours, black pudding not the best either. On a positive note the fresh fruit and yoghurt was delicious and nice to see fresh fruit instead in tinned. Staff were also very good at breakfast. Now, the reason you must stay here is for the dinner! We found out they had a curry night on a Sunday and asked if the Chef could do us a curry - wow, amazing! We had curried Lamb Shank and Butter Chicken, delicious, again the staff were fantastic. Rice and naan breads should be the same quality as the main courses though. All in all we would definitely return and would recommend staying here.

After a long day driving we where meet warmly by the Manage Javit , he kindly put us downstairs to accommodate our 96 year old mum . We walked into the room which was spotless and smelling lovely The breakfast was good value for money and good quality food . Only downside I would say is you walk into the hotel if your old or unstable on your feet watch out for the un even paving slabs , this has been like this for years
