The Waterside Bistro in Haddington
1-5 Waterside, HaddingtonWent with my partner for Sunday Lunch.
Sadly they only had A beef Roast dinner option as my partner was hoping for a turkey etc option as doesn’t eat Red meat.
What we did decide to have was gorgeous, I had tomato and Basel soup followed by the roast beef roast. The Portion of the latter would have fed two people. My parter had goat cheese tart followed by the Cod.
Two cokes and all that came to £75. Which by see of portions and quality of food is well justified.
Fact we also were seated at a riverside view table, were we watched the joys of spring amongst the ducks and swans makes this an amazing experience of fine quality dinning and location in one.

The Victoria Inn / La Terraza
9 Court St, HaddingtonWow what a lovely find. Anna and Craig and staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We only stayed one night but you can see how much love and work has gone into refurbishing the Victoria(they are new owners and the place was derelict on purchase so no mean feat)). Our room, number 1 was bright clean and warm, even to the personal touch of personalised welcome letter. The guide book was also a lovely addition. The shower was new too and hot. It was a brilliant nights sleep and so quiet which amazed us.
We had the tapas and 5 dishes was more than plenty as they were all so delicious that you wanted to savour them. Hard to pick a favourite but I did love the haggis pakoras. The red merlot was divine and they kept a good pint of Bellhaven best As for breakfast fresh fruit , croissants, toast and full Scottish. We opted for a cheese and mushroom omelette ( Hubbys favourite and hard to get in many hotels)and eggs and tasty bacon( oh that crispy tasty rind). Can not fault this establishment and we really hope it goes from strength to strength. We are already thinking of returning to do the area justice and to return to the Victoria. If you want a warm, friendly , great food and sleep then this is the place.A lovely welcome to Scotland

Diggory's Coffee Shop
64 High St, HaddingtonFantastic little cafe. Plenty of tables and a more relaxed seating area through the back. The menu is perfect for breakfast/lunch. We had the paninis - they were delicious. Served with salad and crisps. The coffee was really nice too. The staff were super friendly and efficient - there were only 2 of them but still delivered fast service. Really good value for money too. I highly recommend.

Jo's Kitchen
The Mart, East LintonCatered for my 70th party dinner and breakfast the next day for 25 persons at Wedderburn Castle. The planning and execution was faultless, we had allergies and special requests all of which were efficiently managed. The quality of the food and service on the day was exceptional, with several of our guests personally thanking the chefs after dinner. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jo's Kitchen for your celebration!

Winton Brewery
Hospital Rd, 10 Station Yard Industrial Estate, HaddingtonWe regularly visit the Winton Brewery taproom and would regard it as one of the best places to go for a beer in Haddington. So much so that we decided to hire the pallet bar for a party the night before our wedding. Our experience from start to finish was great - good communication from Dave and Steve, easy payment process, and seamless setup. Steve organised everything with the venue which meant we didn't have to think about it and could concentrate on other wedding stuff (we only had to setup the gazebo for outside use) - very much appreciated. Would highly recommend the pallet bar for parties/events.

Falko
91 High St, HaddingtonThis is a fine location for a German inspired lunch. As soon as you step inside it's like being transported to an antique shop and cafe on the continent, quite unlike other places in Haddington. The quality of the service and food match the cosy surroundings and some different choices sets it apart from other cafes. For a bit more indulgence there is a good range of authentic cakes and pastries baked on the premises by the master baker.

Carlyle House Café
6-8 Lodge St, HaddingtonWe went for lunch and felt very welcome. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Lentil soup was good, just the side bread could be changed for the roll. I had a bruscheta without avocado due allergy. But they forgot?. So I removed one star for rating.

Costa Coffee
Tesco Newton Port, HaddingtonMy sister says this place is always lively and full of people, especially in the mornings on Fridays. She really enjoys the atmosphere but thinks it could use a few more seats — maybe even an open or semi-outdoor area near where the wheelchair parking is. That would make it an even better spot.

Eastern Eye
6 Hardgate, HaddingtonWe are lucky to have such a good Indian restaurant in Haddington. The restaurant itself is huge and a little dated inside so we prefer to stick to takeaways. Food is cooked fresh and very tasty. Lovely staff too. We can recommend.

China Garden Restaurant
Newton Port, HaddingtonI can’t speak to the atmosphere as I’ve only ordered from them via Just Eats app but we have ordered 4 times and it just keeps getting better and better. If you are gluten free, just give them a call to find out what you can have made GF and note your dietary restriction under the order notes and BOOM! You can eat almost everything on the menu with no tummy aches after. Very affordable and timely delivery. 10/10 very much recommend!
