We arrived just out of the holiday season so not as busy as it might have been had it been a few weeks earlier. A very interesting drive from Tobermory on single track roads with hairpin bends to reach the restaurant too. The restaurant itself is very open and bright and contemporary inside. Lovely setting in the countryside. The staff were excellent and attentive without being overly so. Arriving later than booked after a challenging walk on a gale-swept headland, we had good appetites and Am Birlinn did not disappoint! We all went for the 'Slow roasted pork shoulder, flavoured with rosemary, garlic, lemon, fine beans, potato & black pudding terrine, pan juices' and it was absolute perfection! We drove over from Tobermory on a very dark misty night to come for a booked meal here. Well worth the effort despite some hair raising turns on the road in the weather conditions. The food was the best of our eight days away in Scotland. The scallops were amazing, as was the seafood. Highly recommended and I would definitely come back here when we return to Mull.
