Came here for an afternoon tea and spa day. Luxury premise, beautiful surroundings, relaxing spa with outdoor heated pool, hot tub and two saunas all outdoors. The afternoon tea was luxury and on par with the Balmoral Hotel and Gleneagles. Tea, sparkling wine, amuse bouche, and two platters - savoury and sweet.

Just back from a lovely stay at this amazing hotel. Theyve spent a lot of money and you can really tell. The hotel and grounds are stunning, bedroom was large with a nice balcony, everything you need plus a few extras. The staff very attentive and friendly. Spa was incredible. Real plus points were an earlier check in and later checkout. Had a great sleep in an incredibly comfy bed.The food in Charlies was lovely. All in all very very good stay and one of the best we have done.Only slight critisms I'd have (still rated it 5 star)1. Service charges, we dont pay them and find it quite rude but you did take them off without question. We prefer tipping to be on our terms.2. Clubhouse for golf very small and underwhelming3. Only 1 draft beer option in hotel4. Fridge in room 101 not coldNone of these things impacted the quality of the stay. Thanks

My second stay at this hotel, with some definite improvements since my prior stay.Service for breakfast was very good, the food options were excellent, and everything looked like it had been prepared with care and attention. However I can confirm, and this is just my personal preference, I still hate the breakfast sausage ! It's very firm and to a man who enjoys 98 out of 100 types of sausage, this would be 99 or 100 :OThe facilities (pool, hot tub, sauna, etc.) are excellent.Service from check in to check out was very good. With prices anywhere from 200-300 GBP, this hotel is a great use of a Hyatt Credit Card Cat 4 Free Night :D

Just spent 2 nights here with a friend after seeing it on TikTok and it did not disappoint! From start to finish the service was exceptional. Food was great! We had an afternoon tea too and were looked after by Flavia, she was a very attentive and lovely girl and we had a great chat too. We also booked Swedish massages and these were SO good! I think I fell asleep twice throughout. The spa was probably the nicest we had ever been to. Only thing I’d say was missing was a steam room. Our room was modern and really nice decor. Our bed was so comfy that we got breakfast in bed delivered to our room and it was fresh and delicious! A very relaxed weekend and would defo come back for sure. The summer here would be incredible

My wife and I booked a night at this amazing location during our vacation through Northern England and Southern Scotland. We traveled over from the US for our wedding anniversary and to explore Kelso, the hometown of my wife's grandfather.Although the rates may seem on the high side, I can confidently say you truly get what you pay for. We were treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The resturant is high quality and the cocktails at the bar are top notch. We did not have the time to enjoy the other included amenities such as the heated pool or spa, but we did enjoy ordering our breakfast in bed. The relatively later check-out was nice as well.Thank you for the wonderful stay and making our time in Scotland remarkable.

Enjoyed it but felt it was well overpriced. £30 overnight charge for a dog was excessive. 12.5% service charge added to the bill. Leisure facilities not as good as Portavadie Marina. Disappointing overall.Brilliant breakfast though and nice friendly staff.

Brilliant place for a great break, great food and good serviceNearby activities: Archery, shooting, tennis and of course an 18 hole championship golf course with plenty of buggies for hire.

Sister and I went for an overnight break, the main attraction being the spa facilities. Sadly we were underwhelmed by these - they seemed inadequate for a hotel of this size ( I doubt it was full) The pool is lovely but can only really accommodate 4 people swimming lengths , I got out when it felt overcrowded. Didn't ever get near the single standard size jacuzzi, it was colonised by groups of selfie taking young people. Tried both saunas and probably enjoyed the dip in the unheated plunge pool most - but getting there was treacherous in the dark ( no lighting !) the path was over stepping stones surrounded by slippy mud.Had we known we would not have gone in the evening but waited till morning when it seemed much quieter. The large 'relaxation' room with lounging beds seemed rather a strange concept to us, being older people who don't enjoy sitting around in our swimsuits, however it seems popular. The bedroom was OK- we asked for twin beds and found them somewhat firm. The shower was good however the space round the actual loo seemed cramped. The hairdryer appeared to be tempremental but apparantly thats a safety feature. We enjoyed the breakfast. There did not seem to be many staff around, but we were not really looking for anything except a peaceful night and a good swim.

Food & drinks: The service in the restaurant was slow, but aside from that everything was great.Noteworthy details: Excellent spa.

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from our 2 night stay. Absolutely 5* experience, beautiful grounds and facilities. Staff very helpful, restaurant is pricey as is the spa treatments but you get what you pay for. Breakfast included as was the general spa, both were a highlight. We also used the gym, quite small but decent equipment. We decided to go into Jedburgh for dinner one night which was only 15 mins drive. Overall very good experience.Food & drinks: Every dish we had was beautiful, really amazing.

visited the hotel recently for our friends special day. Second time at the hotel, last being many years ago… It’s changed! Hotel is set in beautiful location, the hotel’s approach road is quite pot holed and we sadly had the misfortune to damage one of my alloys which was not best start. The buildings old and new are beautiful, as was the restaurant. Our only other complaint really was while we were there was terrible noise coming from what we found out was a clay shoot in the hotel grounds, why on earth they had this running on this day we cannot understand?, other guests echoed the same, this was not great and spoilt things to some degree, staff were nice, met a few characters. Nice hotel but the noise and other issue did spoil our experience.

A fantastic hotel with amazing service from everyone there. We spent a weekend here and really enjoyed it. The rooms were a great size with under floor heating in the bathroom. Spa area was tranquil with a variety of teas to choose from. Loved
