Peaceful holiday park good value on Loch Taylor near killin and

Mrs Currie

Quiet and fun place to stay a couple of nights with the kids. It was very handy for walking up Ben Lawers. The toilets were really clean. The plot we had was a good size and nice and flat, electric hook up and we had a wee tent and a campervan. The woods/forest were fun to explore and build dens in.

Spend the night in an octo pod with my wife and youngest. Very comfortable. Warm underfloor heating. It's was a cold night outside but very warm in the cabin. Good facilities and very clean. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

When the site said bring everything you would if you were camping except a tent, I did! Turns out I really didn’t need to at all! Almost everything is here with the exception of bedding. Microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster. Lamp, light and Tv! I stayed in a hob pod for two. It was super clean and smelled lovely when I arrived. Couldn’t fault anything at all. Having no toilet or shower is hard work. But I coped. Toilet block was fine, served it’s purpose. Surrounding area is beautiful, the site is on the loch, with a National park opposite the road you arrive on. Killin village is very pretty. Nothing much there at all. Most shops seem to have closed or are closing, but guess that the economic climate. Would definitely come here again.

I can’t comment on the restaurant but the campsite allows groups of drunk young people to play loud music in to the night much to the annoyance of other campers who vented towards them. Earlier in the evening the warden could’ve stopped this by having a word but he turned a blind eye and there was no sign of a night warden. Night ruined!!!

CLOSED. Cruachan is lovely but it's currently closed. However the website and Google haven't been updated. It'll be open again soon but has changed hands.

Very average experience. Keep waving your arms in the toilet if you want to see what you are doing.

Really good food and service. The Cullen skink was excellent and served boiling hot with lovely bread. The fish and chips were crispy and delicious as was the hunters chicken. Highly recommend this restaurant

Loved this campsite. Such welcoming people and the place is well looked after. Has a gorgeous walk to the loch from the campsite and a play area for the kids. They have a policy that its quiet time at 10pm which people adhered to. Killin and the beautiful Kenmore is close by for days out. Kenmore is fantastic for paddle boarding etc. Will definitely be back.

It was okay... I wouldn't usually write a bad review but feel I need to as I was quite disappointed with the experience. The check in process was not quite what we usually expect. No guidance given on where facilities are, toilets, taps etc. The toilets and showers are definitely due an upgrade. However these are easy to walk to and close to all camping spots as central. The camping area is 80% on a slope. No enforcement of quiet after 10pm which was a shame as on both nights of our stay children were running around screaming until 11.30-midnight. I think if a campsite has this rule, it should be enforced or attempted to be.

Set in the idyllic countryside of Perthshire with stunning views. Family and dog friendly. A lack of public transport passing by the place is a bit of a let down though. Considering that the road has a distinct absence of pavements, it being the main artery between Killin and Aberfeldy making walking a somewhat precarious undertaking. The campsite owners right along the loch should maybe club together and put on some sort of shuttle service as they could all benefit from it. Other than that, the area is one of my all time favourite places and have some fresh treasured memories from my time at this campsite.

We had two lovely meals at the Cruachan Farm restaurant and just loved the cosy, friendly atmosphere. The caramel apple Betty and ice cream was a winner for me and, while we opted to sit in, it's great to know there's a takeaway option!

We stayed at this campsite for three nights last week, and I wish it could have been longer. The location is amazing, truly beautiful. There's a walk to Loch Tay which is short and lovely, very close to the Falls of Dochart. The facilities were clean, the showers hot and powerful. The utility room was excellent with washing machine and tumble dryer. The site itself is spacious, well maintained and easy to navigate. The owner was very helpful. My only disappointment was that we did not get to try the restaurant as the menu looked good.I would definitely return here again, I absolutely loved it.We stayed as a group with 6 people and were able to camp together.
