This is definitely a nicer setting than their old place across the road. There is more room, but at the same time, it feels cosy. We opted for the chicken ramen, haggis balls x3, chicken dumpling gyoza, and Japanese fries with a cola and a latte. As the haggis and gyoza were on the starter menu and the ramen on the mains, we asked for it to be brought out at the same time. However, all the dishes were brought out one at a time with a slightly longer gap in between than we had anticipated. I'm not sure if this slower style of serving is on purpose in order for us to savour each dish (or get used to eating with chopsticks! There are knives, forks, and spoons available). If it is, then you might struggle to get a quick bite to eat. The food itself was really nice and couldn't complain about the taste, if anything it could have been a bit hotter and the ramen (at £17.95) could have been served in a bigger bowl and filled up to the brim. The latte was very nice. The servers were polite and well presented. There are customer toilets available to the rear. Because it's a specialist Japanese establishment, do be prepared to pay a little more for the food and drink. Overall, a very nice place to eat and drink, we would certainly go back again.Parking: There are time limited and Pay & Display parking nearby. Access onto the High Street is restricted to disabled drivers with a blue badge, check Fife Council parking regulations as they change day to day.

This place is a gem in a now bleak high street, amazing dishes particularly the curry soup.Hopefully more quality restaurants move into the ever growing empty premises to bring it back to life.

If you want to eat out in Kirkcaldy, then this is the place to go.

The atmosphere was calm and very welcoming. The food was clearly prepared with care and passion. Will definitely be ordering the tempura prawn starter again next time. The chicken katsu curry was fantastic and the selection of sushi (Hosomaki in tempura)that we were presented with was also well worth the visit.

First time here...has an "Edinburgh" feel to it. Food amazing, staff friendly and place spotless. Hard to believe such a place is situated on Kirkcaldy High Street....and loved the sneaky preview of the future plans. Well done first class!!

Toilets also upstairs with group dining table and an area that could be used for a conference maybe.Nicely decorated. No alcohol served.

Could be better, the ramen was nice enough but not very hot when it arrived and the portion of noodles was very small. For £20 I'd want a lot more, I will say the pork was really nice, just let down by the temperature and stingy noodles. The sushi was nice enough, maybe a bit sweet for my liking.I got the desert sushi which was interesting but I did enjoy it but would be hesitant to recommend as it's quite an unusual pairing.Service was good and the food came out very quickly so no faults there.

I came here on a recommendation, and now I have to wonder if I can trust my friend... :( London prices for mediocre food.. all this place has goin for it is the interior decor. The gyoza was... crunchy.. like.. impossible to eat with chopsticks, cornish pasty crunchy.. I've never had gyoza like that before...and never want to again...And the chicken katsu curry's rice was tepid.. the restaurant was empty so I can't explain it...Disappointing.. The two stars (rather than 1) are for the interior decor/atmosphere.

Amazing food, amazing service and a really lovely atmosphere. We have been meaning to come here for ages and we most certainly will be back to try more from a thoroughly exciting menu!

Good service and decent food. The chicken was a bit dry and the duck not red at all.

Delicious food, staff are friendly and helpful and you can bring your own wine to drink.

I expected it to be an overpriced place with average food. However I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good and there was good quantity. Yes it's pricey but the food is worth it. The meat was very well made?? ( especially the duck in the duck ramen).

Overpriced takeaway food that is served in a restaurant. The only attraction here is that it is the only restaurant in the area that offers Japanese cuisine. Beyond that, it is overpriced and the food is below par. The tuna on the nigiri looked almost chewed up. The miso soup was alright but at £5 it should have been exceptional. Okonomiyaki was tasty and reasonably priced.

Went today for lunch with my husband and got very impressed with the service, definitely not the common slow scottish service. The food is good, the place is clean, the attitude of the staff is "I really like my job" and I am happy I don't have to go all the way to Edinburgh to eat good sushi and noodles. I'll definitely be back.
