Food is always superb here. Portion sizes are big and we find we don't need a starter or dessert! Might do a starter and a dessert next time lol.But then again we're not big eaters.

It's a really amazing place. The atmosphere is great, the surrounding area is beautiful and the staff is great (we didn't have to wait for our order to be taken, we were asked later on if we needed anything, if the food was ok etc.). As for the food, big portions and very tasty. We had fish and beef, both delicious. If there is anything that could be fixed it's probably the external stairs. Owners might get into serious trouble when someone falls as the stairs are moving a lot (kinda feels like surfing)

This was a last minute reservation but are we delighted we went. Service was very good food excellent. My husband had the steak and ale pie which was delicious he claims the best he has tried. Believe me that is some recommendation. Delightful views over the loch. Highly recommend will definitely visit again when next in the area. Tony. Marjorie and Alison.

A very popular table on a Saturday night. We booked, arrived early and had to wait for a table. This allowed us to walk around the Loch and was a lovely precursor to a lovely meal. They even telephoned us when the table was ready such was the amazing service. If you are in Lanark, are gluten free or a Coeliac then this is the place for you! Whilst not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, the menu is amazing and full of dedicated gluten free meals. There are gluten free wraps, gluten free bread and a massive choice of different types of meal. And the portions? Massive. Proper hearty food, cooked to a very high standard, presented well and delivered to your table with a great level of service. My meal was so big that I couldn't finish it, which will always be the greatest regret for me! Friendly staff and a comfortable environment. Highly recommended.

Have dined at this restaurant a few times now and enjoyed the food and have reviewed previously as well, but on this occasion, the service was shocking. My friend and I booked our table for 6pm and we arrived at 5.58 to an understandably busy restaurant and were seated at a table set for 4 and were beside 2 tables of 10+ celebrating birthdays and while having a great time, they were very loud, but we put up with that. We ordered 2 courses and enjoyed very much and at 7.15 the waitress came over and said they needed the table back in 10 mins, did we want to order a desert?! We immediately felt we were being pushed off our table but ordered a desert anyway. We enjoyed our desert very much and barely 10 mins later the waitress came over and again asked were we finished because they needed the table. So we got the bill and paid at 7.30 (£75) and queried how long you get the table for to which she replied 2hrs, so we should have had the table until 8pm (6pm til 8pm). The manger came over, confirmed it was 2 hrs as "stated in their Terms and Conditions" and apologised saying he thought we arrived at 6.45, but even if that was the case, we should have had the table until 7.45! Easy math really! He offered us tea and coffee at another table, but we were already offended and disappointed and left. Dining out is supposed to be an enjoyable experience of excellent food and great service . They were obviously very busy and needed our table but to rush customers while enjoying a lovely meal, is just not acceptable.

We have been to the Inn in the Loch many times over the last few years and it’s consistently good and the best restaurant in Lanark, offering a wide choice food styles for everyone on the menu, with generous portions and a friendly and well laid out restaurant with loads of seating areas for parties of all sizes. We were there again last night with friends at a table of 4 we had 3 courses each and drinks and a coffee (with the required piece of tablet!)starting with the fresh and tasty chorizo and black pudding salad, garlic mushrooms and chicken goujons. Mains were chicken and haggis burger with amazing chunky fries, I had the fillet steak stir fry with noodles and 2 x peri peri chicken with spicy fries all large portions and delicious. Sweets (forced down of course) were hot apple and cinnamon crumble with custard, chocolate brownie with ice cream, sticky toffee pudding and I had my favourite raspberry macallan sundae with shortbread and tablet in it, and a nice rich black coffee to give an excellent finish to a really lovely meal for all of us. Our waitress was Eve Marie and she was bubbly and attentive, which also helps with the overall experience and again it was another faultless meal at the Loch. Well done to the chef and the staff, keep up the great standard and we will doubtless return again soon. ??

Went in for Lunch with my wife, nice and friendly welcome from the staff, no waiting to be asked for drinks which was nice. Menu is varied and should suit all tastes, ordered our meal (Hunters chicken) a good choice for us both. Staff were attentive friendly and polite. We will certainly return soon.
